Pip felt Ravi's warmth disappear. Vanishing into the darkness of the night. She felt his warm lips against hers and heard his silent sobs. The cold air moved towards her as the door shut close.
"Ravi" Pip felt around for Ravi. Felt for his warmth but it had dispersed. All to be left was his fake heat spread across the cold bedsheets. "Ravi? Where are you going?"
Her eyes adjusted to darkness. She laid stilled, listening to any sounds of Ravi. She heard his footsteps against the stairs. The sound his feet against the hardwood floor was one she recognized anywhere and the creak of the stairs - the third one up from the bottom - as he made his way towards the front door. Panic ran through her.
She got up making her way downstairs. Skipping the third stair, being careful not to wake her family up. "Ravi, please don't leave me alone. Not now."
