Her knuckles rapped against the door. Seconds grew longer as she stared at the door, willing it to open. Her grip on Ravi's hand tightens and her fingernails dug into his skin. His thumb lightly tracing circles on the back of her hand.
And that's when she heard the clattering of a lock and the creek of the door as it slowly opened.
"Pip?" In front of her was Josh. Her younger brother. Tears fell from her eyes as she heard her brother voice for the first in in 2 years. "Josh."
Pip didn't remember walking into the door or how she ended up in a tangled hugs filled with tears and happiness. But here she was with her family. And Ravi of course. Happier than she has been in the last two years.
"We're going to run a few quick errands, we should be back by ten." It was just Pip and Ravi now. Alone in her house. "I'm happy you're back, Pip." Ravi pressed the words into her forehead, wrapping his arms around her. Pip melts into him, finding comfort in the warmnt of his neck, "I love you, Ravi" "I love you more."
"Come on." Ravi got up, dragging Pip by the foot to the base of the stairs. "I'm going to help you unpack."
