Chapter 3: the sleepover

Back in amber's room :

All the girls (Amber Cleo Hildi Sofia Amber )were sitting in their PJs in a circle and amber shut the door and made sure noone was listening. Eek amber squealed and sat down next to sofia. Sofia faced amber and amber looked Sofia dead in the eyes and asked "okay Sofia you know this is a safe sisterly space. Now let's get to the point. Do you like Hugo ?

Sofia pov

I-. I said. I couldn't get anything out. I mean I didn't really know what to say. It isn't really like I knew myself. And then it hit me. I thought of the first day we met and how aragibt he was and how I changed him not anyone else me.

He was the one who gave me butterflies his eyes were the eyes I got lost in he is the reason I get out of bed every morning. What I'd give to see his gorgeous smile right now. I love him....I finally said after all that's thought. All the girls started squealing and giggling and hugging and I felt happy but all I wanted was Hugo.

Back in james's bedroom:

So hugo......zandar said😏.Sofias kind of cute would you say? Back off Zandar.Shes off limits James said from the other end of the room(he was looking in his closet to set out his clothes for the next morning while the boys were gathered on his bed ) Hugo awkwardly shuffled and dorkily chuckled.

Hugo POV

Oh god this boy really knows how to test my nerves. I thought. I suppose you could say so. I said nervously. Yeah...I would say so........but would you ? Zandar asked hopefully. There's no point in resisting. James already knows something fishy is going on and Zadar suspects me too. I might as well just give in.

Yeah I could.. I said. She's the funniest prettiest most unique and special girl ever. She really is one of a kind . I said. James looked at me in shock. So do you like her ? Zandar asked. This is 5he question I've been dreading. After I answer this there's no going back. I love her . I said. Oml oml oml!! Did I just say that ?!?!?

"hold up! I think we need to discuss-" James started before he was cut off by zandar .Zandar smirked. "Not surprised..you two got awfully close on the pirate ship." WAIT- how close are we talking ?!?" James started. Zandar continued still ignoring him "You know you should just tell her I'm sure she feel the same.".

"She most definitely does not !" James said. Ok-ok let's quit this before it become something bigger than it already is. I said. There was a long awkward pause until Desmond had walked into the room. "I was brushing my teeth and I heard the girls squealing  something about Sofias first love"

Desmond said the silence was broken. Zandar smirked and Hugo and James ignored him and carried on . So you .......like my sister........? James asked even though he already knew the answer. Yesssssss?😅😬 I replied .please don't hit me I finished.

I've got me eyes on you bro. James said. For now just stick to being her brother/best friend. He said and smiled. Let's get to bed. We are meeting the girls tomorrow in the garden at 8 so we need to be awake.

Then They heard squealing from ambers room. Doesn't seem like the girls are going to be any time soon Zandar joked. Yeah it's crazy they got to bed the latest then get up the earliest. Hugo chuckled . You don't need to tell me I live with two James joked. Goodnight guys Desmond said. Goodnight everyone else replied

Third person POV

Late at night neither Sofia nor Hugo could sleep the both got up and Sofia went outside to see clover

Sofia POV

I went outside to see clover. I can't believe I like him! I thought to myself. This is NOT how things are meant to be !! I sat down on a bench on the gazebo and petter clover who was sitting on my lap. I guess you couldn't sleep either. A voice from behind me said

Hugo I breathed. What are you doing here. The same thing you're doing he replied. Getting some fresh air. He said. He sat down next to me and my heart felt happy 😊. Hugo... I said. Yea princess? He replied. The nickname gave me butterflies that I tried to ignore. What if you like someone but you're not supposed to like them.

Hugo POV

My heart sank. Sofia likes someone else. Why did I have to be so stupid. Of course she likes someone else. She's Sofia! She's beautiful charming funny witty brave smart independent. She could have any boy she wanted.

Hugo ? She said again snapping me out of my thoughts. Oh yeah sorry... I replied. What do you mean you're not supposed to like them ? I asked. "I mean they just aren't right for you and you just know that they are out of your league."

As selfish as it sounds I didn't want to give her advice. Even thinking about her with another guy makes my heart ache. But I just said what I thought so that maybe she would finally see herself the way that I saw her from the start.

Sofia..... I started .you never know who is and isn't right for you unless you test the waters and no one could ever be out of you league Sofia. No one. I told her. And in my opinion it was the honest truth.

Sofia POV

No one apart from you Hugo. I thought in my head. I wanted to say it out loud but my lips wouldn't move. Thank Hugo🫶I said. Your the best big brother ever I said hugging him

Hugo POV
Ow !! Hugo said and a small rock hit is head

Amber POV

Damn you James! I whisper shouted.from behind the bush. Oh come on Amber! You can't expect me to sit here and be called "second best brother" James moaned. He isn't even her real brother !!!. If you two don't shush then they are gonna hear you !! Cleo stated. Wait guys I think they're asleep. Zandar said. Aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee how cuteeeeeeeee I thought sofias head lightly rested on Hugo's shoulder and their hands were in twined. I whipped out my phone and started taking pictures like any good older sister would do 😊😎😌and then we all went back to bed.
