The morning Mayuri woke up to find her husband still sleeping. She felt it was a miracle to finally be the first one waking up. It was still dark outside indicating the sun is yet to rise.
Slowly making sure to not make any noise, she left her chamber walking through the hallways. On the way she saw kunti standing lost.
"Pranipat Mata, why are you here all alone?" Mayuri questioned and immediately noticed the restlessness on her face. "Putri I could not sleep the entire night. I'm afraid of maharaj's descision and that he may gave Arjun unfair punishment" she replied and Mayuri took kunti's hand in hers.
"That will not happen mata, Arya yudhisthir will never let that happen. We have full faith on lord Narayan, he will never let us down" Mayuri confidently replied and kunti smiled "Decades have gone yet nothing has changed. Each and every second in hastinapur feels like stepping on thorns. Though today Arjun may not be punished unfairly but what about the other times? My heart is always restless seeing the undying hatred in duryodhan's eyes for his own brothers. Tell me putri, is the thirst for power stronger than the love between family? Why is the boundaries of society limited to power and pride?" Kunti questioned her eyes drowing with pain as she struggled to hold back her tears.
When Mayuri looked at kunti, she felt like kunti was hiding unlimited pain. Pain which cannot be shown nor described, her eyes seems to hold countless secrets. Mayuri always wondered the reason for kunti's silence and guilt filled eyes.
"Mata, we are bound to our dharm. We are bound to live our life fairly and as followers of dharm, instead of questioning the reason for adharm, we should fight against it. Aryaputron will get their deserved rights and it's time that Maharaj dhritarashtra understand it. You cannot breakdown in such way infront of Aryaputron, you are their strength mata" consoled Mayuri holding her hand.
Mayuri always she wasn't the best with words and to console people she used to do things which would bring them happiness. Her sole mission back in dwarka was to ensure everyone's happiness yet here things are different. This isn't dwarka and here happiness is a privilege, not a right.
"I trust you and Panchali with my whole heart, my dear. Tum dono mere putron ke jeevan mei dharm ka maarg ho aur jabse tum dono aayi ho, mai nishchint hun" kunti confessed as she caressed Mayuri's cheeks. "I know marriage between two people is already complicated itself. There is alot pressure on a woman to be a pious wife and you are in a position where you have to devote yourself to five men but trust me, My sons are deeply in love with you and so are you putri. Your love will be your greatest strength" the sudden revelation from kunti's side caught Mayuri offguard. She blushed as she took in her words.
Kunti chuckled at her blush and pinched her cheek slightly "Why don't you go wake them up putri, I'm sure they will be really happy" kunti said Mayuri nodded before leaving for Arjun's chamber which was the nearest.
Arjun has always been a light sleeper, like any other warriors he has to be cautious about his surroundings. His eyes fluttered open when he heard the twinkles of payal entering his chamber.
The sweet scent of lilies reached his nose and his lips curved into a smile realising it's no one else but his wife. Mayuri on the other hand tried to be as discreet as possible so she could surprise him.
She tiptoed near his bed reaching out her hand to shake him but instead in a moment, she was pulled onto the bed now lying under the Archer.
Mayuri let out a gasp as she found Arjun smirking as he caged her in his arms.
"Arya w-what are you doing?" She questioned her heart racing fast as she looked up to meet his brown orbs. "The gods must be happy with me as they blessed me to start my day with your face, beautiful" he said taking a strand behind her ear. She blushed looking away instead.
