Xavier
The agonizing thought tore through my mind as I reluctantly let Twisha go. Forcing myself off the bed and onto the frigid floor I surveyed the room. The shattered glass, broken furniture and scattered belongings were a cruel vision of the chaos I had caused.
How had I reached such a point?
Taking a deep breath, I tried to recall the events that had led me here. The events of the previous night slowly formed a narrative in my mind.I remembered waking up with an unfamiliar sense of clarity - as if someone else was operating my body.Truth became clear - I had been taken over last night by something more powerful than my imagination.
Twisha had fought to break away from me, but I'd forced her down with unimaginable strength and kept her here against her will. As my memories flooded back, I recalled the overwhelming cocktail of emotions that had coursed through me - love, lust, rage, joy, helplessness - all woven together into one.
I remembered that an instinctive knowledge told me where to find Dad, and I left the cottage to go to him.
How did I know where he was?
I drove to a cremation ground near the temple I'd visited on my first day in Nainor. My father stood surrounded by three men who sat on the ground chanting some incomprehensible incantations. They sliced open their palms and poured their blood into a tumbler before offering it to me.
My body quivered with anticipation as I accepted the offering, feeling a dormant power craving to be released from the depths of my soul. Before I could blink, I had downed the contents of the cup in one gulp. At once I began to shake uncontrollably as I collapsed to the ground.
The unfamiliar voice in my head whispered, "Go to her, everything will be alright" and filled me with a newfound courage. A faint smile graced my lips as my feet moved before my mind had a chance to comprehend and I rushed off, guided by an inexplicable force.
I could feel her presence like an invisible thread between us; an unbreakable connection that was begging for release. The smell of her was so distinct and powerful that I just had to follow it, until eventually I found myself standing in front of a white-gray house.
Without thinking, I pushed open the door and stepped inside. Twisha was in the room conversing with someone, and instantly noticed me standing in the doorway. Her eyes widened in terror as she stopped speaking mid-sentence I remember feeling an admiration for her innocence.
Without hesitation, I walked towards her, knowing that our destinies were undeniably intertwined. As I approached Twisha, the air seemed to shimmer with an unseen force. Her eyes, full of terror, begged me silently to not take another step towards her.Her body shuddered - like a wild animal ready to flee.
I gripped her hand tightly in mine, feeling an unspoken connection that spanned an eternity.
"Who are you? What is it you want?" a deep male voice growled behind me. I refused to be stopped and pulled her forward towards me.
"Let her go!" He yelled, as he rushed towards us, but I turned and snarled at him, my eyes full of the promise of violence.
"If you know what's best for you, you won't make me your enemy," I warned him menacingly.
His face drained of color and he stumbled back, allowing me to drag Twisha away.Tears streamed down her face and sorrow shook her tiny frame as I forced her into the car and buckled her in.
I leaned close to her, locking my gaze as I said in a low menacing tone, "Just remember; don't anger me because even I don't know what I am capable of."
