Joshua's POV:

Hoshi had told us to meet at our usual cafe yesterday to meet someone. I was curious about who this person could be since besides us and a few other idols, Hoshi didn't really have other friends. We all gathered outside the cafe, waiting for everyone to arrive before heading in.

"Hyung, where is this special someone you were talking about?" Dino asked Hoshi as we arrived at the cafe.

"She's already inside. Let's go in, and I'll introduce her to you guys," Hoshi replied, leading the way. Inside, he called out, "Areum ah!" The girl with dark brown hair and light brown eyes turned towards us, smiling brightly and waving. I couldn't deny she had a crazily beautiful smile. My heart started beating faster for some inexplicable reason. I've met many pretty girls before, but there was something different about her...

"Guys, this is Areum. She's my childhood best friend, and now she's going to work with us," Hoshi announced.

"Work with us? Hyung, what do you mean?" Dino asked, clearly confused.

"Well, I'm going to be Seventeen's social media marketing manager. That means I'll be coming up with ideas and content for you guys, whether it's for social media or your Gose episodes," she explained.

"Wow, that's so cool," DK exclaimed. We all sat down, and she patiently introduced herself. We went in order of age, so Scoups went first.

After introductions, we ordered food and started eating. For some reason, I found myself stealing glances at her. I wanted to talk to her and get to know her more, but Wonwoo and Hoshi sat beside her, making it harder for me.

"Areum ah, can I get your number?" I heard Wonwoo ask her. I felt a pang of jealousy that he got her number, but he quickly explained it was for work and to help her around. I guess that was okay. Why did I care so much anyway?

As we ate, I learned a few things about her. She was from LA, like me, spoke three languages, and had a beautiful English name, "Arisa Kim," which sounded familiar for some reason.

"Should we show Areum around?" Hoshi suggested, and we all agreed since it was our day off. "How about the arcade and then catch a movie after?" DK proposed, and we happily agreed.

"Alright, let's go!" Areum said happily, clapping her hands together, which was so cute. Oh my gosh, Josh, stop.

As we discussed how to get there—since we arrived in two cars, and Areum might not have had space—I spoke up nervously. "Um, it's fine. I drove here too. I can meet you guys there."

"I'll come with you," I blurted out, surprised at my own words. Oh no, why did I say that? I couldn't take it back now.

"Okay, you can tell me the directions," she said, smiling at me. I smiled back, agreeing with what she said, hoping I didn't seem weird. We walked out of the cafe into the carpark, and I followed Arisa—I preferred her English name; it had a nicer ring to it. We walked up to her blue Porsche Taycan.

"Is this your car?" I asked in awe.

"Yep, my dad got it for me on my 21st birthday," she replied proudly. We got in, and as I drove, I got to know her a bit more. She seemed like a genuinely good friend to hang out with.

"What about you?" she asked.

"Well, I decided to join Pledis because singing really makes me happy. It was my dream to become a singer," I told her, explaining why I joined Pledis, as she wanted to know more.

"Wait, you and Hoshi are the same age, but why do you call him Oppa?" I asked curiously.

"Well, since we've been close since we were young, and back in high school, I got bullied. He protected me like an older brother, so I've always treated him like an older brother. He treated me like a sister, even though we're the same age," she explained, looking a bit sad about her bullying experience.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you went through that. Who would even bully you? You're beautiful," I said sincerely. Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink, which made me smile a little too much.

"Thanks, Shua. You're a great person to talk to," she replied warmly.

"Well, you can text me anytime if you want. I can give you my number?" I offered.

"Oh, sure. I don't mind," she said, and we exchanged our contacts in each other's phones.

We arrived at the mall about two minutes ago but were waiting for the rest to arrive. We continued talking until the others showed up.
