After the big lunch we had, we decided to take a leisurely walk around the beach to walk off the calories. "Come help me take some photos, the weather is really good today!" Joshua handed me his iPhone eagerly. "Okay!" We spent some time snapping pictures for each other, capturing the beautiful scenery around us.
"Come here, sit down next to me," Joshua said, patting a spot beside him. As the wind brushed against our faces, we settled down and enjoyed the view and the peaceful silence. Honestly, it was really nice spending time with him—even in silence, I felt calm and happy.
As dusk approached, we decided to head back. Joshua drove us to a night food stand that sold fish cake soup—oh my god, I LOVE fish cake soup; it was such a comfort food for me. The ahjumma led us to an empty table and took our order. "Tomorrow is your first day, right? Remember, if you need anything or any help, just drop me a text, okay? Don't be afraid," Joshua reassured me while also explaining some company rules to help me understand Hybe better and avoid any missteps.
Our food arrived, and we both devoured it hungrily after the long day we had. After eating, we chatted and drank a bit of soju. "It's been a while since I drank soju," I remarked. Surprisingly, we found that we had a lot in common, and most of the time, we conversed in English instead of Korean since we were both more fluent in English—having grown up in America.
"Alright, I guess it's time to send you home." Joshua paid the bill, and we left. He was such a gentleman—opening car doors, paying for the food, and even carrying my bag for me. While these gestures might seem like the bare minimum for guys on dates, all my exes were pretty terrible and toxic—egoistic rich boys. After my last ex cheated on me with another girl, he had the nerve to tell me he would never date anyone like me again. I never really trusted guys after that. But there was something different about Joshua—this man was literally perfect: good-looking, kind, wealthy, sweet, and so much more. I could go on and on, but I'd rather not.
"Here we are. I hope you had fun today because I definitely did." We exchanged a small hug before he left, and I went up to my apartment to wash up and get ready for bed.
After showering, I noticed that Joshua had posted the pictures we took today on Instagram. "I better wait to post mine tomorrow; K-pop fans can be quite toxic sometimes, and I'd rather avoid any misunderstandings."
