As soon as I got out of the shower, I heard my phone buzzing. Curious to see who would text me this late, I checked, and it was not who I expected.

Shua: Hey Arisa, Joshua here. I hope you got home safely.
Shua: I was wondering if you're free tomorrow?
Shua: I'd like to show you around, if you don't mind.

Me: Oh sure, I don't mind, but I'm only free after 2 PM if that's cool with you?

Shua: Oh, for sure. I'll pick you up at 2 PM then?

Me: Okay! Just us, though?

Shua: Yep, just us if that's fine with you?
Shua: Alright, send me your address tomorrow so I can pick you up.

Me: Yep, it's cool :) see you tomorrow, Josh. Goodnight!

Shua: Good night, Areum.

After texting Joshua, I immediately fell asleep. I guess I was really exhausted from today, which is a good thing since I have a big meeting in the morning at Hybe.

As soon as my alarm rang, I got ready for the day. I wore a light blue crop sweater with high-waisted black pants and my favorite platform heels. I looked in the mirror before leaving the house, and I swear my fashion sense has never failed to amaze me.

I opted for an Uber today because I'd be meeting Joshua, and he would be picking me up, so I didn't have to drive. Luckily, Hybe wasn't too far away from my apartment complex, giving me more time to sleep and get ready.

*Riiing... Riiing...*

Kwon🐯 is calling...

"Oh, Hoshi-ya."

"Areum ah, what are you doing today? Want to hang out?"

"Actually, I'm quite busy today, Oppa. I have to run some errands. Sorry..."

"It's okay, Areum. I understand. See you tomorrow!"

"See ya. Bye, Oppa."

After the call with Hoshi, I realized that I'd arrived at the company—oh, damn, it was huge.

"Hi, do you know where the meeting room is?" I asked the receptionist for help as I didn't want to get lost.

"Just go up to level 8 and turn to your right," she instructed.

"Thanks," I replied.

I followed the receptionist's directions, and as soon as I reached, the meeting started.

"Everyone, I want you to welcome Areum, our new social media manager for Seventeen," the CEO introduced me to everyone.

After two hours, I was done with the meeting. It was kind of awkward getting to know everyone, but I'm still excited to start this new job. I was so occupied during the whole meeting that I didn't even check my phone. Checking the time as I walked out of the meeting room, I realized, "Shit, shit, shit, it's 2 PM, and I forgot to send Joshua my address."

Soon, I felt my phone ringing, and I quickly answered it.

"Areum ah, you forgot to send me your address," Joshua said over the phone.

"Oh, sorry. I'm actually at Hybe right now. I just finished a meeting."

"Oh, okay. Wait for me; I'm coming," Joshua said as he ended the call. Oh man, I was too busy; I forgot to text him where I was.

"Shua, I'm so sorry; I was too busy in the meeting, I forgot to check the time."

I said, apologizing quickly as I entered his car.

"It's okay, Areum. I understand that you were busy, but now for the rest of the day, you are mine."

As he said that, I kind of blushed. "His?" But he was probably just talking about us hanging out. As I looked out the window, trying to figure out where he would bring me, "Is this a date?" I thought to myself.

Suddenly, I heard a reply from him. "Well, do you consider it as one?"

WAIT, HOLD UP, WAS I NOT THINKING SILENTLY? I can't believe I said that out loud holy shit.

"Erm, well, I guess if you do, I do too." I replied sheepishly.

"I guess it's a date then."

Joshua said, smiling brightly at me. Holy crap, I'm on a date with my bestie best friend? Is Hoshi going to be mad if he finds out? Jesus, so many questions running through my mind all at once.

"We're here," Joshua said.

I looked out the window to see we were at a beach?

"Usually, when I feel nervous about something, I like to come to the beach as it helps me relax. Since you are starting a new job soon, I thought you might feel nervous about it, which is why I brought you here today," Joshua explained to me.

"Awe, you're too sweet, Josh. You didn't have to do this for me," I thanked him for being so sweet and thoughtful.

"Come, I bet you're hungry; we can go eat first."

He brought me to this seafood restaurant near the beach. How did he know I love seafood?

"Hold up, how did you know I love seafood?" I asked.

"Well, I kind of asked Hoshi for help about the things that you like, but don't worry, he didn't suspect a thing," he reassured me.

We quickly ordered our food as we were both starving. I got my favorite spicy marinated crabs—literally the best way to eat crabs, y'all—and some more seafood that Joshua likes. After we ate, we talked for a while to get to know each other better.

"Well, I had this best friend before I went to high school in Korea, but sadly, he moved away after two years, and I kind of lost contact with him, which made me sad because he was a really nice guy." I was telling Joshua about my childhood since we started talking about our lives back in LA.

"Wait, were you from Los Angeles Elementary?"

"Yeah, I was. OMG, you're that guy? WE WERE BESTIES?!" I screamed with excitement.

"Wow, what a coincidence. No wonder I felt like your name was super familiar. I guess it's fate, Arisa," Joshua said, laughing at my silliness.

"Yeah, I guess it is, Josh," I smiled to myself. I can't believe it's such a small world...
