Arisa pov
It's been about two weeks since I started working at Hybe, and I must say, things have been going really well. The guys often invite me to their practice sessions so I can watch and hang out with them. Joshua and I are also getting closer, and not just in a friendly way, which I'm enjoying, but I'm also cautious not to rush things and get hurt, so I'm taking it slow.
Today is my day off, so I'm planning to hang out with Tae and Mark, as I promised to meet them a while back but was too busy at the time.
At the cafe
"Hey there! It's been ages, and I've missed you guys too." Mark and Taeyong enveloped me in a warm hug as we settled into a cafe for coffee and lunch.
"Yeah, we were inseparable during our training days. Remember that photoshoot we did in Jeju for that skincare brand?" I reminisced.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that," Mark chuckled. "It was pretty iconic, our first gig together."
Mark and I have known each other since his trainee days because our parents knew each other. I got to know Taeyong through our first photoshoot together, and we've been close ever since, even after I went back to LA.
"So, how's work? And is our bestie still single?" Taeyong asked with a knowing look.
"Well, there's this guy I'm getting close to, but I'm hesitant because of past experiences," I admitted cautiously.
"Who's the lucky guy?" Mark asked eagerly.
"It's Joshua from Seventeen, if you know him?" I replied.
"Of course, who doesn't know Seventeen? They're huge," Taeyong and Mark chimed in together.
"Yeah, I've realized that after becoming their social media manager," I laughed, explaining my current role to them.
"How are things between you and Joshua?" Taeyong inquired.
"We're getting to know each other better. I'm taking it slow this time," I said, recalling my past relationship.
"That guy who cheated on you was such a jerk," Mark added angrily. Mark and I have always been close, bonded by our fluency in English, which helped him a lot during his trainee days.
"What about the fans? Do they suspect anything yet?" Taeyong looked concerned, knowing how harsh the internet can be.
"We've only posted one photo together, so I don't think they suspect much. But if Joshua wants to stop because of the fans, I'll understand," I replied honestly.
"Well, we wish you all the best. If he hurts you, you know where to find us," Taeyong said protectively.
"Thanks, Taeyong. You sound like my dad," I teased, feeling a pang of missing my parents. I made a mental note to call them later; I've missed them a lot, despite their sometimes pushy ways.
After our meal, we headed to the mall for some shopping therapy. "Mark, you should get this cap, it suits you," I suggested, and Mark agreed enthusiastically.
"You've got great taste, Risa," Mark complimented me.
"Well, of course! You're talking to me, after all," I replied playfully, flipping my hair. "Risa" was a nickname they gave me during our trainee days, and I've grown fond of it; it feels like a cute name that suits our sibling-like bond.
After a fun-filled day with Mark and Taeyong, I returned home feeling relaxed. I dropped my bags on the floor and flopped onto my bed. Before calling it a day, I decided to post the photos we took today on social media.
