Chapter 6

Jacob

As I sat in the study hall excerpts of the dream I had the previous night kept coming back to me.

Dark woods, pretty girl,shivers and sweat.
I started sweating profusely as I relived the dream in my head.

Kennedy noticed a change in me so he throw a squashed piece of paper my way so I would look his way.

As I turned my head Shane let out a whistle.
This girl really had no chills and was surely bent on being an intruder I guess.
Kennedy let out a laughter that almost sounded like a whisper.
He was always on my case about these girls.

I took the squashed paper and wrote;'let's talk after lesson. My head is on fire'.
I threw this over heads in an attempt to get it back to him.
Shane caught it.
Damn.

She hesitated for minute then she finally decided to open my private letter.
She read it out loud and everyone sitting close heard it.
Heads turned.
She threw it to Kennedy.
"Let's discuss this after lesson cutie".
She blurted out.

Kennedy burst into a hysterical laugh.
My stomach turned in embarrassment.
I swear I could strangle her.
Even Rheda turned to listen to what she said.
Solana giggled from the front row.
Damn.
This was the last straw.

Mr.Robert slapped his book on the table for silence when he noticed there was muttering.
He even motioned that we be careful lest we get a front row seat.
Nobody wants that.
Everyone was super silent for the rest of the lesson.
We were divided into groups for our project work.
I was in a group with Jacob and Shane.
Talk of the devil.

After English we had to go for lunch and boy!
I walked as fast as I can out of the hall to the cafeteria.

Kennedy run to keep up.
Even he seemingly betrayed me.
What was the laughter for?

We took a seat in the Cafe after we went for our trays.
Definitely couldn't say no to food.

As we dug in there was utter silence.
A few yards away was Rheda.
Immediately I saw her she turned almost as if u mentioned her name.
Our eyes met.

There was a period of utter silence.
Then the dude burst in laughter.
I thought he had repented. Kennedy.

I was in no mood to laugh.
He settled down and said;"let's get to it. Why is your head on fire though?"
I wanted to strangle him.

I narrated the dream and what happened to him.
He sat in silence for a while and he said;"Do you have a history of paranormal experiences?"

"No I don't".I said.
He sounded so worried about the nightmare.
Kennedy said it was just a dream.
I felt relieved to hear that from him.
I was then ready to eat to my fill.

Leaving the Cafeteria we drove right back to Almond house.
I needed to clear my head before I could attend another lesson.

Normal stares and whispers happened as usual but we slid in as quick as we can.
A few boys were in the house.
We entered our room only to see Ralph making out with Adrian in his bed.
Everyone else was on campus.

We decided to ignore them.
These people never noticed we were even there.
They almost got naked and we had to intervene.
Trust Kennedy to always come to the rescue.
"Not here and not now guys, please", he said.

That was when they realized we were in the room.
They laughed it off and got dressed as they left.
I was not surprised.
Ralph is the biggest playboy on campus and the ladies loved his company.
I was not going to be like him.
My playboy days were over.
Joan put me through too much when she cheated when I cheated on her.

No more of such relationships for me.No more one night stands.
Kennedy got me an ice bag.I put that on my burning head as I lay down on my bed.

I needed some rest first.
