Chapter 2

Jacob

As I walked out the room I could feel her eyes make holes in the back of my head.
Talk of the devil.
I motioned to Kennedy to follow suit and I could hear is calculated footsteps as he stared at the whole encounter.

Surprisingly,I was not furious nor did I feel disrespected.
A normal me would flare up and speak some truths into her thick head but I was not in the mood to indulge her.

She didn't look my type.She had this big eyes that I didn't want to look into.
The depth in those eyes scared me .
Very dark looking eyes with a knowing look.

Rheda was her name and I was definitely not looking the direction of any Rheda.
Smirking,I walked on.

I walked into the cafeteria with Kennedy tagging along and whatever would I do without him?

As we served ourselves to some coffee I saw some ladies wink in a familiar way as they nodded towards us.
I knew what they wanted and I was tired of requests from these ladies to join us at a table.

I nodded towards them lazily and turned back around almost immediately.
To my surprise they were seated at our table in less than five seconds.

I always wondered if they did give the same treatment to every guy in Raven College.

As we sipped our coffee they engaged us in small talk.
"I could not recognize your car anymore after you changed it without a heads-up". Shane said.
I paused for a second as I thought deeply. We were never friends to say the least.
How does me changing my car be a problem then?
I ignored the question.

A minute after no response from me she was still unperturbed and ready to chatter some more.

"Ladies,excuse us.We need to attend to an urgent call".
Kennedy saved the situation.
I shot out of my seat almost immediately.
They looked downtrodden as we walked out of the cafeteria.
Feeling done with Raven High already.

That night was the same old night.
This Senior Class was definitely growing on me.
Almond was as noisy as usual as I packed my bag and followed my dad out of it.

I had to go meet Uncle Reynolds.
He just returned from Africa and I couldn't wait to hear his stories about his visit.

Driving through the lonely roads of London,Mr.Brad quizzed me about how I am coping with the pressure from College and girls.
I hated discussing girls with dad.
My 16 year old self was so not prepared for such conversations with my dad but he insisted despite several protests and confessions that nothing of the sort had happened.

I was a big boy for God's sake. I thought every single thing I wanted to tell him but I never muttered it out.

After these interrogations concerning my new school,there was some few minutes of silence after which we made a bend.
We had gotten home.

I went straight to breakfast and I was happy to see some good Spaghetti.
Mrs.Deen Rowley was not the type of woman who was average.
She could win the best cook in the world if she wanted to.
I hungrily dug into my food and was it delicious!
Uncle Reynolds had to wait.

After dinner I went to his door to say hi.
As I knocked on his door I saw mum who explained that he had to rest from his trip.
I obliged and walked off into my room opposite the hallway.
Tomorrow I would talk to him.

As I went into bed that night thoughts of Rheda flashed as I tried closing my eyes to sink into sleep.
Unfortunately I had difficulty sleeping and relaxing most evenings and this was one of them dark nights.

I was wondering why she was staring at me and many thoughts crowded my head despite showing indifference when she displayed her utter rudeness.

She didn't really come off as the type.
Reading eyes with dark lashes.
Literally silent during most of the lessons.

Thought after thought gave me a migraine before 12 that night.

I finally drifted off into sleep not long after 12am.

I woke up that morning drenched in sweat.Guess what?
I had a dream.
