The day has come.

Eleanor was free for the first time in a while. Now, time to face the embarrassment of being the 'newbie' of the year.

Hopefully Sirius would help her get used to Hogwarts.

"Eleanor Gracelyn Miller get down these stairs or you won't be going anywhere outside this house till I die!"

"Sorry, mother!" El yelled downstairs; this happened every morning.

Eleanor tried the door and this time, it was unlocked. Finally.

"And bring that blasted trunk with you!" Her father added on.

Eleanor took approximately 13.2 seconds to get downstairs, she counted herself.

"Finally." Her mother muttered. "Let's go."

The young girl was grabbed from both arms by her parents and they briskly apparated to platform 9 3/4 to drop her and her bags off and then leave her to fend for herself.

El got on the train on time and put her luggage safe before heading down to the compartment that Sirius told her about.

She found it and knocked 3 times.

"Come in!" A cheery voice yelled in and the girl stepping in shyly.

The boy she had met at her parents' party had his head on the lap of a boy with a majority of scars littering his face, the latter playing with Sirius' hair.

On the other side, two boys were deep into a card game but looked up to see who has entered their compartment. One had messy hair and glasses whereas the other hand controlled, blonde hair and blue eyes.

Also, on that side was a girl with a warm smile and long, straight, ginger hair.

"Finally, another girl! My names Lily, Lily Evans! I've not seen you before, are you new?" the ginger girl started. "I would normally be with my friends but there wasn't enough room in their compartment and Potter here dragged me in."

"I'm Eleanor, Eleanor Miller." El introduced herself.

"Miller? As in Angelica and John?" The boy with glasses asked. "The Slytherin family?" His nose wrinkled up in disgust.

"Yes, as in the Slytherin family. Vous devez être Potter parce que vous avez l'air d'un connard insupportable." El said flawlessly.

Sirius snorted and said- "C'est vrai, Eléonore. C'est James Potter pour vous."

The girl burst out laughing before turning to Lily. "Let's go Lils. I don't think I can spend another minute with this git."

That set Remus and Peter laughing as well as she winked at the four before leaving with her new best friend.

Although, a question about Lily burned in the back of El's mind. What was her blood-status?

She couldn't help it. It was the way she was brought up. Her parents calling blood-traitors and Muggle-borns mudbloods.

"Lily?"

"Yeah, Eleanor?"

"Are you a mudblood?"

"Excuse you?"

"A mudblood."

"Do you even know what a mudblood is?" Lily whispered the second to last word.

"My parents told me that blood-traitors and muggle-borns were mudbloods."

"Eleanor, a mudblood means dirty blood. It's a slur in the wizarding word. You can't call people that or you might be kicked out!" Lily explained. "But yes, I am a muggle-born."

"Oh my Merlin, Lily! I'm so sorry! I didn't know that! I hope you forgive me." The girl frantically replied. She didn't want to lose her first and only friend.

"It's alright, El. Sirius did the same thing."

"He did?"

"Mhm."

They had finally arrived at Hogwarts and Eleanor Miller's stress levels were rising.

What would they do to her if she wasn't in Slytherin?
