...

Eleanor Millers awoke one day before the day she was due to go to Hogwarts to the sound of her parents screaming at each other, again.

That's one way to start the day.

Her door was still locked but her window wasn't due to the rat that came in the previous night.

El walked towards the window and looked down. It wasn't that much of a fall.

The girl quickly got changed, brushed her hair and teeth before opening the window the full way and keeping out carefully.

Finally, a bit of freedom.

Now, Where should she go?

...

A couple of hours later, El had reached home after getting lost countless times and being approached by many pedestrians, which when they tried to speak to her, she lied- pretending she didn't speak English.

Eleanor tried the front door and to her surprise, it was unlocked.

If she could successfully sneak in, was another predicament altogether.

El brought her shaking hand onto the handle of the door and winced as it creaked, alerting her parents of her return.

"Who was that?" Angelica shrieked, her voice sounding muffled to the girl's ears as the youngest Miller heard shuffling around and people running.

"Halt, intruder!" Her father yelled, brandishing his wand in her face as El, scared, put her hands by her face and shut her eyes.

"Eleanor Miller!" Her mother exclaimed. "What in Merlin's name are you doing outside of your room?"

"I-i uh... fell out the window?" El was a terrible liar, if you hadn't of gathered that already. Now she was terribly regretting it.

"Get inside." John said sternly.

The door was slammed shut and locked with a wave of a wand and the girl was forcefully shoved into the middle of the room.

"What the hell were you thinking? Trying to climb out of your window!" Angelica ranted.

"Succeeded to." Eleanor Miller corrected quietly, thinking no one heard her.

But she was most mistaken.

"What did you just say to your mother?" John started. "You shouldn't have had said that, you ungrateful shit! Me and your mother work tirelessly looking after you and making sure you have everything you need. Just to get nothing in return!"

"CRUCIO!"

The young girls screams bounced off of the walls, causing it to echo twice as loud than normal.

"You weak little girl! Get a grip! Be a proper woman, like me!"

Eleanor was currently curled up on the floor, violently shivering on the floor and her eyes leaked like a waterfall.

"Take the spell off of her, love. We don't need an insane nutcase for a daughter."

Her father grabbed her by her hair and dragged her upstairs, pulling a few careful strands of her elegant hair out onto the floor.

He dragged her into her room, threw her in and locked the door.

Eleanor crawled up into a ball and laid there for a while before remembering that she was due to go to Hogwarts the next day.

She had already packed everything and was more excited than she was last week to go.

She left herself crying onto the floor and nearly fell asleep until she heard scratching on her window.

She forced herself up eventually and opened the window with a lot of struggling.

It was that rat again. It jumped in and gave her another crumpled piece of paper before nuzzling up to her hand a little and then climbing into her hand and gesturing towards the window.

El lifted her hand towards the window and the rat ran out.

She read the note.

Dear Ellie,
I'm calling you Ellie now and there's nothing you can do about it :)
We forgot to tell you that if you go to the compartment at the end of the train with a 4 initials carved into the door, that's ours.

See you tomorrow, love x

Eleanor read the note with a smile on her face before she fell again out of pain and exhaustion and fell asleep there.

Meanwhile, some certain people were extremely worried about her.
