James Potter lead Eleanor Miller up the stairs and into the marauders' dormitory. To her surprise, it wasn't as bad as she'd originally thought it would be.

It was reasonably tidy.

"El, was that your first kiss?" James asked inquisitively.

"Sort-of." Was all she answered.

She looked around and saw the other three boys Potter was usually seen with asleep soundless.

Remus had Sirius on his chest and was had passed out with his hands in his hair and Peter was half off of the bed and lightly snoring.

James reached into his drawers and grabbed a t-shirt and some shorts for the girl to change into.

"Here you go. Or you can sleep as you are. I don't mind." He said.

"Okay. Can y- Okay." Ellie didn't finish her sentence as the Potter boy had already turned around and faced the wall.

"You can look now. I'll turn around as well as you get changed." She turned around and faced the wall.

"You can look now."

"Alright."

Oh shit.

James Potter sleeps shirtless.

He gestured El towards the bed as she took the left side and he took the right.

"G'night, Eleanor Miller."

"Goodnight James Potter."

And they fell asleep.

...

"Shit!" El shot up, breathing heavily.

Great. Another nightmare.

This was the third one this week and she had barely been sleeping.

She checked a clock that lay on one of the boys' nightstands.

It was 2:26am.

She quickly looked around to see if she had woken up any of the others when she heard someone say- "El?"

She turned back around and saw James Potter awake with his elbows propped up against his mattress with a worried expression plastered onto his face.

"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to wake you up. Did I.. wake you up?"

"Nah, I'm a light sleeper."

"Alright. I had a nightmare and a pretty shitty one at that."

"Are you okay? Come back over here. I can't hear you properly."

El crawled back into the bed where James wrapped his arms around the girl's small figure and laid her down on his chest, keeping her warm.

"Is this alright, Eleanor?"

"Yes James. It's fine."

...and that's how they fell asleep.

...

"El. C'mon, wake up." James gently tried to shake the sleeping girl awake but it was no use.

Instead, he carried her all the way back to the Hufflepuff Common Room, where he was greeted with a password.

Luckily for James, it wasn't his first rodeo.

Due to the amount of pranks they had pulled, it was kind of impossible not to know almost every way into the Common Rooms.

The almost being the Ravenclaw riddles; James was still confused on why the mascot was an eagle instead of a Raven.

He left her on the couch with a blanket tucked around her and a lingering kiss to the forehead before he left back to his dorm.

"Oi! Prongs! Been sneaking off and snogging Eleanor again I see?"

"Don't know what you're talking about mate."

"Yeah, you do. Me and Moony were awake when she had that little 'nightmare' of hers." He laughed. "Pathetic."

"Hey." James defended. "You can talk. Who had nightmares for the rest of Third Year when you got a yelling from Lily? Oh, that's right, you."

"James Potter defending a girl he met a couple days ago. Mate, you've got over Lily quick."

"Just, shut your mouth." James was flustered as he changed into his uniform and left briskly.

"Hah, knew he snogged her."

"Shut up!" He called back.

"Hey, Padfoot. Ten gallons that they snog before this week ends."

"You're on, Wormtail. I think it'll be by tomorrow."
