The match ended with Karasuno winning against Nekoma. Nekoma had to do the penalty which was the diving penalty. (Y/n) was called to the bench by Coach Ukai after the match, "with you entering this match, it'll be an easy win for you but what I want the most for our team is for all of them to train so that they'll hit a wall in order for them to improve". Hearing this saddened her, as a frown was evident on her features, "b-but Coach, then does that mean I can't play with my team?".
He sighed out loud. Her teammates were watching from afar, they thought she would be happy after winning a match but they didn't expect to see this reaction instead. "So, I'm gonna get benched or something?", she asked with a small, saddened tone. He shook his head, "then how are you going to improve your own skill?". Her eyes brightened after hearing his words. He grinned, "you'll be joining other teams to practice your defense".
Her eyes sparkled in excitement, "yay!!", she cheered. "I've talked to the coaches, and they all agreed after watching your first match", he gave her a thumbs-up before calling Shimizu. Shimizu showed her the list of rotation where she rotates from different school in each match, but she of course will have a break in the midst as to not over-exert herself. "Thanks, Coach, Kiyoko-senpai", she grinned widely before heading to Shinzen's team.
"What's going on, coach?", Nishinoya asked as he watched (Y/n) having a friendly conversation with the opponent's team. "(Y/n) is what I might say a difficult boss, which means that he has to improve his own abilities in his own way, I told him to join other schools throughout this training camp", Coach Ukai replied blatantly. Tsukishima clicked his tongue, 'of course he's the center of attention', he looked away as he recalled when she grabbed his back, he couldn't deny that she was oddly attractive as he saw her features up close. Now that someone else would be next to her, he didn't like the idea at all.
The Captain of the Shinzen team explained to her their usual team plays. She listened diligently before nodding her head in acknowledgment, "very well". "You're a middle blocker, right? Can you toss or spike?", he continued to bombard her with questions. She answered, "I don't frequent a toss, but I can spike". He smacked her back, "great! We need nice spiker".
This time Shinzen was fighting against Ubugawa. (Y/n) was in charge as the left spiker. She as just a newcomer completely blends in with the team as she quickly caught on their habits. Throughout the match she practiced both her toss and defense from the back row. It's evident that they were quite weak in receiving and defense. Ubugawa had troubled getting a score since every time they spiked, she would be there and received it perfectly as it landed right above the setter. She grinned and got ready for the synchronized attack.
The enemy who thought that the setter won't use her since she had received, left her open from any blockers. She got the upper hand as the toss was high for her and she slammed it down, shocking the opposite team.
"You're really good!", the captain grinned and gave her a thumbs-up.
The match went on until finished with Shinzen on the lead. She sighed and jogged over to Coach Sasagawa, "your team is great! But there's one thing I'd like to suggest, sure they had great spikes along the way, but they definitely need to improve on the overall defense", she muttered while staring at her current team. "Duly noted", he grinned at her, "it seems you're having fun in this team". She smiled cheekily, "playing with random team is entertaining for me, one moment I can be their enemy, and the other I'm their ally".
"Who are you teaming up with next?", he asked after laughing at her words. She looked around and found them, "fukurodani". "Very well, it was nice having you around, we'll play as a team again later, (Y/n), don't forget to stay hydrate", he added before he watched her jogged to Fukurodani.
"Oh!! (Y/n), you're in our team now!", the loud voice of Bokuto could be heard, as he wrapped an arm around her neck, "don't steal the spotlight from me though, nyahaha~". She giggled and reached her hand that was on his back to ruffle his spiky hair, "let's fight for the spotlight then", she joked making him take a few steps away from her. "But I'm the ace!", he pouted as he blinked his owl-like eyes. She sneered, "I was an ace too". The group furrowed their brows. Konoha who was already standing beside her asked, "at which high school?".
She ran her hand through her hair and grinned, "at the States". Bokuto gasped out loud, "really??? But since you're in our team we'll be counting on you", he grunted cautiously. She stifled a laughter before walking over to him, she couldn't help but find his behavior adorable, she smiled up at him and patted his shoulder, "don't worry Kotarou-senpai, the spotlight belongs to you, I'll play as a middle blocker".
His eyes brightened, "for realll????? YASS!! The spotlight is mine to take! NYAHAHAHA". She pressed her lips together trying her best not to smile but he was too cute so ended up grinning widely while looking at him. "(Y/n)-san", Akaashi called to her.
"Yes, Keiji?".
"Tell me your preferable toss".
