Garrett was ignoring and avoiding Robert the rest of the journey. Cersei babied him but he assured her he was fine. Just a bruised ass.

"We are almost there." Jaime remarked riding beside Garrett. "You doing alright?"

"I'm fine." Garrett assured. "I just wish we had a different king." He mumbled.

"So does your mother." Jaime agreed. They shared a smile.

"Why do you put up with him? He's my father I can't disown him but you serve him willingly." Garrett remarked.

"I do it to stay close to you and your mother, your siblings." Jaime reminded him.

"I know what he does, the whores in his chambers when you are on guard. I know he likes to make you listen while he insults her." Garrett remarked.

"How do you know that?" Jaime questioned.

"Because he summoned me... this was years ago and I heard him, he said to come in and he had four naked women in his bed. Mother didnt seem to care, she preferred him to have his fill in others. I felt awful for her, having to deal with that. To deal with him. Then I saw you guarding the door, after those women went in. I saw your face pinch as you were assigned to guard him while he fucked his way through Baelish's brothel." Garrett remarked. "So why stay when thats yours job?"

"Same reason. I like being close to you, Cersei and your siblings." Jaime assured. Garrett looked to the gates approaching. The starks were getting lined up, everyone had come to winterfell for a view of the king. He wasnt that great, he wasnt great at all Garrett thought. Why go through such the pomp and circumstance for Robert?

"You are a better man than I." Garrett remarked. "I can't stand him most days."

"You are a great man, Garrett. you have none of your father in you." Jaime assured.

"Thank you, for saying that." Garrett agreed. "He's not going to marry me off is he?"

"He is going to try," Jaime agreed. "But your mother is determined not to let you marry a northern..."

"I know the colorful terms mother used to describe her." Garrett assured.

"Ned! Your frozen face is a sight for sore eyes!" Robert declared. He was always shouting, Garrett decided. He dismounted and moved to the carriage opening the door for his mother and youngest siblings.

"My sweet boy," Cersei cooed taking his hand as she stepped out of the carriage. Myrcella jumped down sinking in the snow with a laugh. TOmmen leapt into Garrett's arms. He spun his baby brother around.

"So much snow, Garrett," Tommen remarked.

"Help me I'm sinking!" Myrcella declared. Cersei reached for her hand and Myrcella lost a shoe in the snow. "AH!" She laughed out.

"Dont put me down." Tommen demanded. "I'm not going shoeless this whole trip."

"Myrcella jump on my back." Garrett instructed. Myrcella moved back to the carriage and climbed on.

"Hound," Cersei snapped her fingers at Sandor as Garrett walked them forward, Myrcella on his back, Tommen in his arms. "Find the shoe buried in the snow." Cersei pointed down to the foot hole. Sandor stared back at her a moment longer. "Go on," she insisted strutting away. Sandor shook his head dropping to a knee and reaching down into the snow pulling free a little shoe of the princesses. Yes. This was certainly part of his job description.

"Prince Garrett," Ned remarked extending a hand. "Pleasure to see you again." It had been nine years since Ned took a trip to the capital and Garrett had grown into a fine young man.

"I would shake your hand, forgive my lord." Garrett remarked. "This is Myrcella and Tommen, they are worried about losing their shoes in the snow."

"I lost my shoe!" Myrcella corrected kicking out a foot. Sandor cleared his throat and garrett spun around.

"Thank you, Sandor." Garrett awkwardly reached for it and shoved it back on Myrcella's foot.

"He is so good with his siblings." Sansa gushed.

"You dont have that in common." Arya remarked.

"Shut up." Sansa hissed.

"My point!" Arya declared.

"He's so handsome too." Sansa added. Arya stared back at him. She supposed he was.

"Can you walk now Myrcella?" Garrett pondered.

"Come on, lets get you in some better shoes." Cersei reached a hand out for Myrcella and Tommen. Jaime scooped up TOmmen from Garrett. Garrett shook out his arms before shaking Ned's hand.

"You look the same, Lord Stark." Garrett remarked.

"Your father has certainly changed a bit." Ned remarked.

"A lot." Garrett agreed before turning his attention to Catelyn, he knew that the woman was just as important, his mother reminded him of that. "Lady Catelyn, as lovely as always." Garrett remarked pressing a kiss to her hand.

"I dont believe we have met." Catelyn countered.

"I'm just assuming you have always been lovely with how much Petyr Baelish speaks of you." Garrett offered kindly.

"Baelish." Catelyn agreed stiffly.

"This is Rickon," Ned cut in.

"Hey pal." Garrett remarked, Rickon waved back at him. Joffrey was already inside he didnt want to deal with the snow or the north anymore.

"You remember Robb?" Ned added.

"You were a lot smaller." Robb remarked puffing his chest.

"As were you." Garrett agreed. "Nice to see you again."

"You as well, my prince." Robb agreed.

"Please, call me Garrett. I get enough of the titles at the capital." Garrett remarked. "Jon?" Ned glanced back at Jon and Theon in the second row. Jon was instructed not to move, not to talk to the royals by Catelyn.

"Jon," Ned reached out for him.

"It is you," Garrett agreed reaching a hand out.

"He likes Jon, why can't you sansa?" Arya questioned. Arya loved their half brother hated that sansa treated him so poorly.

"Shut up!" Sansa demanded.

"Good to see you again my prince." Jon answered.

"Garrett." He corrected. "I'm glad I made the journey after all. I remember the fun us three got into when you visited with your father all those years ago." Robb and Jon shared a smile before looking at Garrett.

"We certainly did." Robb agreed. Garrett was over a year younger than them but still they had got on like brothers.

"But we are grown men now," Garrett added seeing catelyn's puckered lips. "We are very mature now, no tomfoolery." Catelyn offered him a knowing smile.

"I'm Lady Sansa." Sansa stepped forward impatient for her introduction.

"Pleasure my lady." garrett remarked.

"And I'm!" Arya declared dramatically bumping Sansa out of the way. "Lady Arya Stark of winterfell," she exclaimed with a swooping bow.

"Wow, the Arya Stark of winterfell?" Garrett mused, returning her bow. "This is truly an honor." Arya blinked back at him expecting... anything but that. A smile crept over her face then she was blushing and had to turn away.

"And I'm Bran.... Brandon." He corrected. "I'm going to be knight one day. Hey is Ser Barristan traveling with you? I didnt see him."

"No, he is commander of the guard, he is back at home but if you wanted to join your father I could make an introduction Ser Bran." Garrett assured.

"Awesome." Bran agreed.

"My brother should have been here to meet you all but there is plenty of time for those introductions." Garrett remarked. He looked around and sansa stared dreamily back at him as snowflakes clung to his eye lashes and melted on his cheeks.
