"I thought you didnt compete." Arya countered.

"Yeah well, Gregor is already done so." Garrett smiled. "I dont have to worry about losing my head."

"Good luck then. Not that you need it." Arya found it hard not to stare at Garrett while in his armor, he looked even more handsome which she didnt think was possible.

The women could all agree that garrett looked so fine in his armor. He went up against his uncle renly. Bested his uncle just as quickly. Garrett removed his helmet and the women swooned. They wished it was his shirt that was removed but his hair damp with sweat his smile as he shook his uncles hand.

"Let me win once so the women might swoon over me." Renly mused but his gaze shifted to loras.

"Sorry. Its against my morals to lose on purpose." Garrett countered. Margaery pushed forward running to garrett. "I will get you all sweaty." Garrett warned.

"Well i want to congratulate my man." Margaery countered.

My man...

Sansa was fuming.

"You want me to kill her?" Arya questioned, feeling murderous as Margaery tried to stake her claim on Arya's man.

"Yes. No. Yes. No what am I saying?" Sansa declared. "Im not engaged to him..."

"You done?" Margaery questioned

"Yeah. All done. " garrett agreed.

"Perfect. You are mine Garrett."

"I stink." Garrett corrected. Finding it easy to blow her off. He got changed and Margaery expected him to find her but instead Arya found him.

"We are going to get cookies for Vaera, she is literally a cookie monster." Arya told him. "You are coming princey. You are paying." Garrett liked her forwardness.

Garrett stopped at a vendor ordering them all something sweet. Vaera held up the cookie the size of her face. Arya realized it was a double date when vaera latched onto jon whispering words of desire like 'if you were a cookie I would eat you up'. Arya looked to garrett as he chuckled. He wasnt flirting with Vaera, he didnt want Vaera, jon did. Which meant.... Arya's heart raced. She was on a date with Garrett.

"Oh a kitten!" Vaera was quick to run off trying to claim the little tabby cat that was stalking after a mouse. Jon chased after her and Arya and garrett were left alone together.

"You want to head back or..."

"or." Arya confirmed. Garrett chuckled. "What are you thinking about?"

"Ah, the future, the realms, the... everything." Garrett offered.

"Thats a lot to have on your mind... I was thinking about my party, the one you said you were throwing for me." Arya decided as they walked.

"Yes, tell me what you want."

You.

"Well, maybe just... you and me training together." Arya suggested. "And then supper after."

"Alright." Garrett agreed. "It's a date."

"It's a date." She breathed back practically breathless.

"If the wrong ears heard what I'm about to tell you, off comes my head. And who would mourn poor Varys then? North or South, they sing no songs for spiders. But there are things you must know. You are the King's Hand and the King is a fool... your friend, I know, but a fool... and doomed unless you save him."

"I've been in the capital a month. Why have you waited so long to tell me this?" Ned questioned incredulously.

"I didn't trust you." Varys admitted.

"So why do you trust me now?" Ned countered.

"The Queen is not the only one who has been watching you closely. There are few men of honor in the capital. You are one of them. I would like to believe I am another, strange as that may seem."

"What sort of doom does the King face?" Ned questioned.

"The same sort as Jon Arryn. The tears of Lys, they call it. A rare and costly thing, as clear and tasteless as water. It leaves no trace."

"Who gave it to him?" Ned questioned.

"What are you reading avalon?" Garrett questioned

"Romance." She answered turning the page. He opened his mouth but she hushed him. That was something garrett loved about avalon. She didnt treat him like a prince but like her friend. "Im almost done with this chapter. This moment will make or break me loving this book or it just being mediocre."

"Got it." Garrett agreed sitting beside her. He waited for her to turn the page a few more times before she turned to him. "Well?"

"Love it. What do you need?"

"Advice."

"Advice? Dont you have advisors Garr?" Avalon questioned waving to myrcella as she passed skipping through life. Nothing on her innocence little mind

" Some dear friend, no doubt. But which one? There were many. Lord Arryn was a kind and trusting man. There was one boy... all he was he owed to Jon Arryn." Varys offered

" The squire, Ser Hugh?" Ned pondered.

"Pity what happened to him, just when his life seemed to be going so nicely." Varys agreed.

"If Ser Hugh poisoned him, who paid Ser Hugh?" Ned questioned.

"Someone who could afford it." Varys offered vaguely.

"I feel awkward asking because you are a contender." Garrett admitted. Avalon chuckled turning to grab his hand pulling him along

"This sounds like a conversation with less prying ears." Avalon remarked before dropping his hand.

"I suppose." Garrett admitted missing her hand in his though so he grabbed her hand again. "My mother hates Margaery. But she kept her. What do you think of her?"

"You dont want my opinion." Avalon decided as they got to the shores.

"I dont?" Garrett countered confused.

"Margaery is every mans wet dream. Shes got the sex appeal and the confidence to take what she wants."

"She said she works in orphanages and with the homeless." Avalon chuckled softly

"And i would like a spider as a pet." Avalon answered

"You hate spiders." Garrett corrected

"Exactly."

"Shes lying?" Garrett questioned

"She is trying to be the best future queen. So shes fibbing to make you think shes perfect...." Avalon shrugged "shes fun and fine but do you really know her or do you know a version of herself shes playing perfectly to get you to-"

"I get it... am I fool?" Garrett questioned.

"Garrett sweetie, you dont love any of us but I see love in your eyes for someone." Avalon remarked.

"Am I that transparent?" Garrett asked.

"Who is she?"

"Someone I dont think I can have." garrett answered.

"You are the prince, the heir, you can have your pick... its not a man is it?"

"No." Garrett declared. "It's a girl. A... wonderful girl... I just I dont know that..."

"What? What's stopping you?" Avalon asked "its your heart-"

"And the seven kingdoms. Its not just my heart Avalon." Garrett reminded

"Follow your heart. But consult your actual advisors before you make THE choice."

"So smart you are Avalon," garrett decided kissing her cheek. "Thanks."
