"Now tell me what's making my babe upset."

I got used to Alec calling me stupid pet names only because he can. They actually make me smile every time.

So when I smile, before talking, he knew it was a genuine one, although it lasted not so long.

I tell him everything that went on in these days. The fight with my mom, all the crying, and in the end, Andrea.

"That's the part that confuses me the most. I feel like we have a connection, but then why do we always end up fighting?" I tell him.

"Maybe it's another type of connection. Maybe you're just not meant to be a couple."

"But then why does he kiss me? And why do I kiss him?"

"I don't know."

"That's useful." I chuckle.

"But I know," he continues "that you guys should make amends."

"Yeah..."

"And then maybe just stay friends." He suggests.

"That's the point. I can't. But at the same time I can't be with him, because of Evan, you know.."

"Look, you shouldn't be talking to me about it. You should call him."

I nod, and pick up my phone, although I'm not very sure that's the best idea.

"He's not there." I say, in part disappointed and in part happy because I don't have to confront him now.

"Then you'll have to talk to him as soon as possible sweetie."

"I don't know... I think it's better if we stay apart for a while."

"And this while, how long will it be?"

"Uh... A while." I nod, and he laughs.

"Okay, let's change the subject then. Wanna do something?"

"Movie?" I give him my best puppy eyes.

"Not The Fault in Our Stars again."

I keep giving him puppy eyes, without saying anything.

"Fine." He sighs, and I hug him, laughing.

He always eventually gives in.

"But you already made me watch it once!"

"Exactly. Once isn't enough. You can only imagine how many times I've watched it."

"But aren't you already sad enough? That's just going to make you feel worse."

I roll my eyes. "You do have a point." He seems to be relieved. "But I don't care." I stuck my tongue out at him and he rolls his eyes.

"Fine, I'll put it up."

I get out my phone and notice I have a missed call from Andrea.

That's my problem, I always keep my phone on silent.

I decide not to tell Alec or he would have made me call him again, and I don't want to talk to him.

"Found it. Can you go and get some popcorn?"

"Yeah." I nod, and leave his room, to ask his mom for popcorn.

While I wait for them to cook, I text my dad to tell him I'll spend the night at Alec's.

That's when I realize I've been spending so much time at boy's houses, and that I never hang out with Anastasia, except at school.

So I get the popcorn and go back to Alec's room.
