Aiko walked through the halls after class.

She ended up sneaking into some old classroom by the general study classes to hang out with Monoma after school. They were still keeping their relationship on the down low. Which Aiko was okay with. He ended up having to leave for his job and Aiko followed a little after him. Taking her time walking back down.

She saw a familiar boy with lavender purple hair. 'so he did get in.'

Aiko thought, she smiled at him and waved but he barely acknowledged her. Aiko frowned and kept walking, ignoring the sound of the door to the stairs shut behind Shinsou. 'Alright then.'

She sighed and ignored this weird feeling in her gut. Like a weird dread.

A familiar dread.

She kept walking past the open classroom door that he'd left, Class 1-C. Aiko could hear voices and couldn't help but overhear the conversation going on.

"Geez can you believe that fuck?"

"I know right? Out of all of the people in general studies he thinks he's gonna get into the hero course?! What a joke." A female voice laughed. "He's a twig, I could crush him in my sleep."

"Yeah not to mention that quirk! How'd he even get into UA?"

Aiko blinked and backed up.

'Can you believe that bitch?!'

'i know right?! Being a hero without a quirk? What a joke!'

'not to mention her weight! God she's so big!'

'and she's quirkless, god I'd just kill myself if I was her.'

She shook her head. She'd overhead that conversation just two days before Tora's actual death. She turned to the door, her dread spreading to her throat.

And she ran, sprinting to the door that lead to the stairs. She entered just in time to hear another door close. Above her. 'fuck, fuck, fuck!'
She ran up the steps, taking them two at a time. Until she just flew, air picked up around her feet and lifted her up.

It wasn't even conscious, it was just happening. She didn't stop until she reached the top and she Burst through the door. "Sh-shinsou!"

The boy turned to look at her, sitting on a bench with a freaked out look on his face. He was safe, grounded and obviously not trying to kill himself.

Aiko panted and shook her head. She was so dumb, everything had just been so similar. She felt the same, she had been sure that... that something horrible was about to happen. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry I..." She panted, holding the door frame.

"Sorry I uh... didn't wave?" Shinsou said in confusion. He hadn't exactly processed it when she greeted him. Not thinking to respond, did she chase him up here just because of that?

"You... the roof.." Aiko stammered, her heart thundering in her chest. She panted slightly, suddenly she was completely exhausted. Embarrassed. But she still felt... panicked. The same way she felt that day all those years ago. When she couldn't stop her... when she saw her sister fall.

Shinsou wasn't Tora... Shinsou wasn't planning on killing himself any time soon, not now that he was UA at least.

"Are you okay? Hey you don't look so good." Shinsou said, standing up. He walked to Aiko in a few quick steps, putting a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes were wide and panicked, barely even looking at him. "You should sit down." He said, guiding her to the bench.

"I'm sorry you just... I got confused." Aiko shook her head again before putting it in her hands. "Are you okay?" She asked him, mainly for her own reassurance. She had to hear him say it.

"Um... yeah?"

Aiko looked up, her eyes red. But she wasn't quite crying yet. "I um... heard... some people saying mean things about you..." she admitted.

"What? Did you think I was gonna jump?" He said lightly, with a small laugh.

Like it was a joke, a fucking Joke.

Aiko didn't say anything, hiding her red embarrassed face, Shinsou glanced down and his teasing smile faded.

"Oh shit you did didn't you?" He asked. "Why would you think that?!"

"I don't know." Aiko said as she began to cry. "It just... it all felt familiar a-and I thought- I'm sorry Shinsou. I'm such an idiot." She sobbed.

"Hey hey! No you're not!" He said nervously. Now she was crying infront of him. He had NO idea how to comfort a crying girl. So he pat her back.

"I-I guess seeing someone like me climb up onto a roof after being mocked looks a little concerning." He admitted to make her feel better. "And it was very... nice of you to come up here and try to save me. But I'm fine, I promise."

They sat there awkwardly. Aiko didn't say anything for a few moments.

"Can I... can I hug you?" She asked, it was for her own reassurance really. To make herself feel better.

"Uh... sure?"

A/N:
If you are rereading then you're probably confused. That's because in the ORIGINAL version. Shinsou DID in fact jump off the building attempts to end his own life.

But while rewriting that just felt... off.

It didn't match his character and felt too random. So I rewrote it! I feel like this scene fits more with Shinso and Aikos characters (it also shows Aikos PTSD from the death of her sister.)
