I sat at my computer in my cubicle, typing with almost no thought. Working at Joja Corp. for almost five years really sucks the life out of you. Everyday I get closer to quitting and doing something meaningful with my life like opening a bakery like I've always wanted to since I was a kid.

I never enjoyed the lonely city life I got stuck in. Memories of visiting my grandpa's farm when I was younger started distracting me from my work so I tried to shake them out of my head and keep typing.

It didn't work. Just then I remembered the letter my grandpa gave me when he died about a year ago. I rummaged through my desk drawers until I found the sealed envelope. I ripped it open not knowing what to expect- a goodbye note, a will, hell maybe there's even a little cash in here.

I pulled the letter out of the envelope and couldn't help but be a bit disappointed there wasn't any money inside, only a letter scribbled on some old paper.

Dear Alana,

If you're reading this, you must be in dire need of a change.
The same thing happened to me, long ago. I'd lost sight of what mattered most in life... real connections with other people and nature. So I dropped everything and moved to the place I truly belong.
I've enclosed the deed to that place... my pride and joy: Starry Bay Farm. It's located in Stardew Valley, on the southern coast. It's the perfect place to start your new life.
This was my most precious gift of all, and now it's yours. I know you'll honor the family name my dear. Good luck.

Love, Grandpa

I sat there for a moment processing what I just read until it hit me. This is my way out. This is my chance to quit this job and start fresh. I silently thanked my grandpa when I noticed the clock hit 5pm signaling it was time to head home for the day.

As I rode the bus to my apartment, I started to question my quick thinking from before. If I suddenly quit Joja now and my farm fails, I'll have nowhere to go.

I snapped myself out of it remembering my dream to own a bakery. This isn't exactly a bakery- but hey, maybe I can grow things on my farm to use in my baking instead of the stale ingredients from the supermarket! I'm sure the townspeople would love some fresh baked desserts. Plus how hard can farming really be?

When I got to my small apartment I laid down and made my decision to put in my 2 weeks at Joja.
