A/N: don't question why we're dreaming of papas freezeria okay leave me alone i got bored

I was at my work station turning on the blenders when I heard the front door's bell ring. I quickly rushed to the counter to take the newest costumers order and was shocked at what I saw.

"Alana! Hey! Can I get a medium blended...."

Sam was here. At my work. At Papa's Freezeria. Why.

As he gave me his order his voice started to fade in and out and his face became distorted and started to stretch in different directions while his eyes became a plain, bright white.

I almost screamed until suddenly the front door bell started ringing repeatedly, getting louder, and louder, and louder, until it was deafening. A constant ringing in my ears until I heard a loud knock on wood and everything went quiet.

"ALANA. WAKE UP."

I jolted out of bed to find Toothless scratching at the front door and a loud knocking coming from it.

I got up and opened it.

"Audrey? What are you- hey!"

She pushed past me and immediately picked up the cat to pet it.

"Fair's today? You comin?"

"Huh? What fair?"

"The Stardew Fair? You know- oh never mind get dressed we're going."

"But, I have to feed my chickens!"

"Okay I'll feed your chickens you get dressed it starts in an hour," she said as she walked out the door and left me standing there.

I walked outside to go meet Audrey and found her leaving the chicken coop.

"Ready? Good let's go."

She grabbed my arm and we were off to the center of the town. When we got there most of the town had already arrived. Audrey saw Sam, Abigail, and Sebastian and we headed over to them.

"Hey guys! How's it going?"

"Pretty good. This town does seem to hold a lot of festivals. Any more I should know about?" I asked the group. I was sick of being dragged to these events. I would have preferred to be more prepared.

The group lightly laughed before Abby answered. "Yeah there's Spirit's Eve coming up later this season and then the Ice Fishing Festival and the Feast of the Winter Star next season."

"There's so many, how do you all keep track of them?"

"Been here a long time youngin," Audrey said with an exaggerated old person voice.

We all laughed and then went to go play a few of the festival games. We ended up splitting up because Abigail and Audrey wanted their fortunes told so Sebastian went with them. Me and Sam went to the slingshot game.

"I'm guessing you've never played?" he asked me while paying the man who ran the stand and grabbing a slingshot.

"Nope, I'm guessing you have?"

He chuckled and nodded. "This one's my favorite. They're here every year." With that he grabbed one of the stones and hit a bullseye on his first try.

"Damn. Okay let me try," I said while taking the slingshot and a rock and aiming at one of the biggest targets. Shouldn't be too hard right?

Wrong. I missed so miserably it made Sam laugh. When I glared at him he shut up and took another rock. "Here, let me teach you."

He suddenly turned me around and took my hand with the slingshot in his and my elbow with his other hand and leaned his face in close. "Here, like this," he whispered as he helped me line up the shot.
