2 years later

I woke up to my 6am alarm and got dressed like usual. When I went to the kitchen Sam was there.

"Hey, I made you some instant pancakes. Enjoy," he said while handing me a plate of them with a smile.

"More instant pancakes?" I chuckled.

"What? I never learned to cook... mom always did that."

"That's okay, thank you." I gave him a quick kiss and scarfed down a pancake before going to the kids' room. When I got there our two children, Ashton and Aruna, were sitting on the floor and playing with their bear stuffed animals.

I gave them each a quick kiss on the head and went outside to start my farm work. I'd made a lot of progress. I had Robin upgrade my house twice and my barn and coop as well. I had a decent field of crops and I'd done a bit of decorating with some plants. Beehives were scattered around the plot of land, a few of the said insects flying around them. Toothless was napping by his water bowl. I went over and filled it up, giving him a few pets before going to harvest the corn that had grown.

Things had changed in the years after Sam and I got married but we still had a nice routine. I would do my farm work and other things like mine and fish but always found time to hang out with my friends at the Saloon a couple times a week. Audrey still worked there and Sebastian had been thinking about making some kind of video game, Abigail still working out what she wanted to do.

Sam and I also went for dinner with his family at least once a season. His dad had returned from war and they were all so happy he was home. He was kind but tired from his service.

Once I'd finished my farm work and fished for a little, a relatively calm day having passed by, I went back in our farmhouse to get ready for bed.

Sam saw me walk inside. "Hey, you look tired. Let me help you relax okay? Maybe I'll give you a massage later."

"That sounds amazing," I sighed. "How are the kids?"

"They're sleeping. I never thought I'd become such a family man, but I'm really satisfied with what we've built here. Life is going great."

I smiled and went to our room. He followed me and we flopped into bed. He kept his word and gave me a light massage on my shoulders. I was right it was amazing.

"Ready to hit the hay? I actually made the bed for once..." he chuckled softly.

I nodded back and we cuddled under the sheets.

"Vincent called," Sam said with a yawn. "He said he misses us and also to tell you hi."

"I'll go see him tomorrow, want to come with me? It's summer maybe we can hang out at the beach again. It has been a while."

"I'd like that. I'm sure Vince would to."

He yawned again and we fell quiet, content to just be in each others arms. Eventually we fell asleep, happy with our lives.
