// Hi! Just a really quick one, wanted to say that I've been seeing all your messages, comments and follows but have no WiFi!!! Thank you so so so much for the support!!!! :D I'll reply to those messages and comments whenever I get my WiFi back!
Also sometimes my data works and sometimes it doesn't! So if I reply to a comment or something randomly, that's probably a little gap where it's working! //
"Right!" Aziraphale began, rolling up his sleeves with determination. "We'll start simple. Just a basic sponge cake!"
Crowley gulped. He couldn't deny the slight nervousness he felt by just being in the kitchen. But at least he had the Angel to keep him in check. And to stop the house from burning down - that would require too much paperwork.
"Now, go get these ingredients." The Angel continued to instruct the Demon on what to collect from the various drawers and cupboards. (I forgot how to make a cake and I don't have WiFi to Google it 😭).
Aziraphale had to admit, he rather enjoyed watching Crowley run around like a madman. As much as he was, well, an Angel... it didn't mean he couldn't have his fun.
"Here you go, angel-" Crowley huffed, already out of breath from running. It was safe to say he was not the athletic type. Despite that, Aziraphale was grateful that Crowley was so willing to do this.
"Thank you, dearest." He replied, leaning over to give him a peck on the cheek. The Demon's face heated up, which made Aziraphale giggle. After that, though, they moved on to putting the ingredients together.
"This part shouldn't be too difficult, now." The Angel grinned. He picked up a random pair of scales, probably miracled, and directed Crowley on how to measure. As he poured out the different bags onto the scales, his hands shook so much he almost spilled it all. Luckily, Aziraphale was there for moral support, and was able to gently guide the Demon's hands to what they were supposed to be doing. Crowley adored the gentle touch, gaining confidence at just the thought of making the love of his life proud.
This lasted for a while, the two slowly but surely progressing. However, everything went downhill when it got to adding the sugar. Crowley, being the accident prone Demon he was, accidentally knocked the entire bag of sugar onto the floor using his elbow. It landed kind of sadly, spilled out like a blood covered corpse. Except the blood was exceptionally sweet.
"SHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT-" Crowley's brain melted, the only thought he could form was 'I've fucked it all up'. Because, y'know, Crowley was a Drama Queen. Aziraphale, on the other hand, simply clicked his fingers and the mess was gone. He couldn't help but feel bad for the Demon. He was trying really hard to impress him, and he wasn't very inconspicuous about it.
"Crowley my dear," the Angel sighed, resting a soft hand on his shoulder. "I've cleaned the mess. There's no need to worry!"
Crowley, however, was doing nothing but worry. And even though he knew Aziraphale had cleaned up the mess, and everything was fine, it didn't feel fine. It seemed the name "Janxiety" was pretty fitting after all.
Still panicked, he decided he'd miracle a new bag of sugar to make up for the dropped one. Although, what he didn't realise was that his miracle had gone slightly wrong. But he didn't know that yet - and neither did Aziraphale.
By the time they'd weighed and mixed all the ingredients, it had been about an hour and a half. Aziraphale knew it didn't normally take that long - after Lockdown, he'd gotten rather into baking. But he didn't let that deter him from helping his partner.
God, he adored referring to Crowley as his 'partner'.
That was besides the point, though. Once the mixture was properly mixed, and double checked for egg shells by the Angel himself (he'd found lots but miracled then away quickly), it was ready for the oven. As much as he was never going to admit it out loud, Crowley loved the oven gloves. They were comfy, and he didn't even mind the little Whinnie The Pooh design - it was pretty cute. And Aziraphale could see right through him, though didn't say anything about it.
