Driving away from the bookshop was difficult for Aziraphale. At least he wasn't the once actually driving - he'd have turned the car around a minute into their journey. Luckily, he wasn't alone. That was why they were leaving, right? To go off together. That was something the Demon had said quite often. Often enough that the Angel could recall several occasions in the past few years where Crowley had begged him to leave the Earth behind.

At least they weren't leaving the planet, he'd assured himself. If that was the case, he didn't know if he actually could. He'd miss sushi awfully. And wine! The pleasures of Earth were something he had learned to love. And as much as he loved Crowley, he also loved Earth. He couldn't bear to think about choosing.

Although, he would definitely choose Crowley if it actually came down to it.

"You doing alright, angel?" Crowley asked, keeping his eyes on the road. For once. It snapped Aziraphale out of his thoughts.

With a smile, he replied "I'm okay, darling."

The car once again fell into silence. A silence that the Angel was oddly desperate to break. He'd been alone with his thoughts for long enough.

"Crowley." The sudden change in Aziraphale's mood chilled the Demon. His eyes focused on him, unblinking. It was his way of signalling for Aziraphale to continue. "I'm not entirely sure what to think."

"About what?" The Demon inquired hesitantly.

"Well... about this."

For a moment, Crowley's heart sunk deeper than the Titanic. Which was pretty ironic, considering the tragic love story of the movie. Was Aziraphale actually suggesting that... he's regretting going with him? After the past few days - the warm embraces, long, passionate kisses - he figured they were both fine with them being together. But clearly, the Demon thought as he turned back to the road, he was destined to watch his happy ending slip away.

"What part of this is bothering you?" He snapped. He didn't mean to shout, and once he did, he immediately felt guilty. Aziraphale didn't deserve it. As much as Heaven tried to convince him he did. God, Satan, somebody! That place was miserable! Aren't Heaven supposed to be the good guys?

"I- I didn't mean us. You know I love you, my dear." Crowley's heart flooded with relief. "It's just. I'm excited to go on a new adventure! But the truth is, I am, and always have been, rather afraid of change."

Crowley once again turned to the Angel, a small, yet meaningful smile playing his lips. "That's normal, angel. I understand that it's new, and new can be scary. But look at us! You're not - well, you don't seem scared of being together anymore. That's a pretty huge change."

"O-okay. I suppose you're right." Aziraphale was also beginning to feel relieved. He also felt lucky to have the Demon beside him to comfort him. Even on their first meeting, Crowley was the one who reassured him that he didn't do the wrong thing. It had become a part of their routine.

"And, angel, at least we're doing this together. I'm so fucking glad you're here with me..." he trailed off, just remembering that day. The day he almost lost the love of his life.

Aziraphale couldn't speak. He was too choked on his own tears to talk. He felt immense regret for even considering going with the Metatron. But it wasn't because he knew he'd be treated horribly up in Heaven. It was because he understood how much that had hurt the Demon. He was shocked he'd even been so kind afterwards.

But soon, words came out of his mouth, but he wasn't thinking about them. "I'm so, so sorry Crowley. I know I hurt you, and I don't want to hurt you again. Trust me, I know you matter more than some promotion."

"I know." Is all Crowley could utter. His voice was so soft that the Angel almost missed it. But he heard. And that was all it took for a singular tear to roll down his cheek. It may have only been a tear, but to Crowley, it showed how much Aziraphale was sorry. And that was good enough for him.

The car fell silent for quite a while. The bustling streets of London finally faded into lush countryside, and the natural air that filled the car was refreshing from the fume-filled air of Soho. Again, Aziraphale loved the nature of Earth. He especially loved the idea of the countryside - miles and miles of rolling hills, verdant grass lining the roads, tall, spectacular trees towering over the simple roads. It sort of reminded him of Eden.

And, in turn, the couple's first meeting.

By that point, they figured the silence had lasted long enough.

"Do you think that when we're in the South Downs..." Aziraphale began with a sly grin that Crowley couldn't see. "That I could, perhaps, drive our car more?"

Our car. Even though he'd heard it before, it in no way meant that it wouldn't still make him feel giddy. And of course he didn't show that to the Angel.

"Not if you turn it yellow again." He scoffed, earning a small chuckle from Aziraphale. "Why yellow???"

"Well, my dear, yellow is certainly a pretty colour. There are some absolutely beautiful yellow things out there... flowers... your eyes..." The last part was whispered, but Crowley heard. His face turned a deep shade of red. There was no way the Angel just said he loved yellow because of his eyes...? Why hadn't he said that 6,000 years ago?! He could've ditched the sunglasses sooner!

"Anyway! I just love it. It reminds me dearly of you. As if you two have a sort of spiritual connection to each other..."

"You could put it like that." Crowley mumbled, still a flustered mess of a dumbass.

"Well, I rather like it as well. Maybe it prefers me over you-"

"No she doesn't!" Crowley seethed, accelerating ever so slightly more. Even though he was trying to go faster, it seemed as if the Bentley wouldn't go as fast as he wanted.

"We'll see about that." The Angel grinned smugly. Crowley refused to talk for a few minutes after that, leaving Aziraphale in his victorious little mindset.

"You know I'm just joking, dear." He sighed, glancing lovingly at the Demon who was still scowling like a toddler.

"Hmph." He replied stubbornly. Knowing the perfect way to get a reaction from Crowley, he quickly leaned over and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. The Demon suddenly started yelling, face once again returning to a bright crimson.

"Not while I'm driving, angel!!!" He yelled, although no maliciousness laced his voice.

"You know you love me." Aziraphale smirked.

"Ugh fine. Yeah... I do." Crowley gave in. He let himself smile lovingly over at the Angel, who returned his smile.

"I love you too, dearest."
