Chapter 16 - Fresh Start

"So he just ditched and wasn't gonna tell you anything, just let you go down for all his crimes?" Namjoon scoffed as Jungkook folded some clothes and placed them in the suitcase, "Do you even know what he's wanted for?" 

Jungkook shook his head, "He was- you know I don't know." 

Namjoon looked at him tilting his head then his eyes slowly scanned the house, he was very aware of his dad's choice of business and knew what it came with. Jungkook had called him in a panic, telling him about the police entering the house looking for any trace of omegas or anything incriminating. 

Namjoon was incredibly worried for his brother, he was 21. If anything was pegged on Jungkook he would be trialed as an adult. As he looked around the house he was aware of what lengths the law force would go to get the intel they needed. Namjoon got the hint and didn't ask anymore questions inside the house. 

"All packed up?" Namjoon asked softly. 

Jungkook looked around his room and nodded, he wasn't sure how long he was going to be out of town with his brother, but he just knew he had to get away form everything. And more importantly, close to Jimin in an environment he was comfortable in. 

"Did you guys tell Jimin I was coming?" 

Namjoon nodded, "Yes we did. Jimin's doing much better these days, you know I don't condone abuse of anyone but especially not Omegas in my lands." 

"I know hyung, I don't want to abuse Jimin. I really never did." Jungkook said slumping a bit on the bed. 

"Doesn't seem that way Jungkook. Jimin has been talking a lot. Really coming out of his shell and he told us everything he went through here." 

Jungkook sighed and felt his eyes water, "I...I didn't know he was going to be my mate. And I thought he was a beautiful Omega and just wanted to touch him and hold him but dad was freaking out every time I touched him gently. Then the next thing you know he brought him home and said he was mine and to practice how to treat an Omega." 

Namjoon looked at his brother and nodded rubbing his shoulder, "It's alright, give Jimin some time and I'm sure he will see who you really are, that you're deserving of an amazing Omega like him." 

Jungkook wiped his eyes and Namjoon smiled a bit glad to see he was remorseful of all he'd done. It left him hopeful because his dad surely had no remorse for anything he ever did to their mom. 

He helped Jungkook take his bags and loaded them in the car. Jungkook thanked his brother and got in the car quietly. 

"Thanks again." Jungkook said quietly. 

"Of course JK, I'm not gonna let dad let you take the fall for all his wrong doings. Now that we're in the car, what do you think they got him for?"

"I think they finally traced the Omega Trafficking project back to him as well as the drug laundering. He was playing with something called Blue Magic and it induced a wolf's heat, like really induced it." 

He smirked a bit remembering taking Yoongi so hard and chuckled as it seemed so long ago, then he sighed and just leaned his head against the window. Namjoon glanced at him as he pulled off from in front of the house. 

Jungkook felt relaxed as they hit the open freeway and  the cool air cooled the car making him feel fresh. It's what he felt like he needed, a fresh start, a fresh location and a fresh start with Jimin. He had hope that Jimin would give him another chance. Namjoon turned the music on as they drove quietly, the only sound in the car was the hum of the wheels on the road.
