(Alex's POV)
I groaned as I woke up. I sat up and looked around confused. This isn't my room...Suddenly it all came back to me. The singularity, Eddie killing himself, Dad being erased from existence, the black hole destroying the city. Being sucked in through the black hole. Oh, right. I'm not in Central City anymore. I get up off of the bed that I was sleeping on. Hughie decided to take the couch, even though I told him that I didn't mind. I look around his room. There was a lot of merch from this Seven group. He appears to like A-train a lot. I left the room and walked into the kitchen to see that Hughie and his father were up. They appear to be making breakfast. But it also appears that they were fighting as well. I could tell by Hughie's annoyed expression and Hugh's worried expression. And the tension in the room.
Hugh: "Hughie, are you still sure about moving in together with Robin?"
Hughie: "Yes, Dad. I'm ready. I mean, Robin and I have been dating since college."
His father doesn't seem sure about it but I don't see how this should be his decision if Hughie and Robin are ready to move in together. I mean, they're both adults. Hughie looked over at me and smiled.
Hughie: "Oh, Alex. You're up."
Hugh looked over at me and tightly smiled. It was clear he was trying to not show that they were fighting. I walked over to the kitchen to see that Hughie was making pancakes.
Hughie: "How did you sleep?"
I shrugged my shoulders. I had a nightmare of the Singularity and watching as my city was being destroyed. But I won't tell them that. They'll just think I watched a movie of that happening. Or that I am crazy.
Alex; "I slept fine."
He seemed happy about that. He then placed three pancakes on a plate and placed the plate on the table. He looked at me with a smile and I looked at him confused.
Hughie: "It's for you."
Oh. I slowly sat down at the table and started eating slowly. I'm not used to people making me food. Sure Dad did that, but not everyone is Dad. Hugh looked over at his son worried.
Hugh: "Hughie can I talk to you for a second?"
He looked at his father confused but nodded his head. They walked into the living room, but I can still see them. So I saw the text bubbles pop up above them.
Hugh: "Does the girl not have any family, Hughie?"
Hughie: "Well, she says she doesn't. That she bounced from foster home to foster home."
I watched as his father's eyes widened as he looked at his son shocked and worried.
Hugh: "Hughie, why didn't you and Robin take her to the police then? I mean, someone might be looking for her, and they could be worried about her."
Hughie: "She said she didn't want to go to the police, because they will send her back to foster care. I think her foster parents just dumped her here."
Hugh: "What makes you think that?"
Hughie: "She said that one moment she was in her home city, but then the next, she was here. She also said that she doesn't know or remember how she got here. I think her foster parents either knocked her out or drugged her, then bought her here."
My eyes widened because that is a good reason for that. I should keep up with that.
Hugh: "Okay, so you and Robin are just gonna care for a girl that probably won't have any identification. I mean, no one knows she's missing, Hughie. How are you two gonna care for a kid that isn't legally yours?"
