Chapter 5: Get Some

(Alex's POV)

Dad and I are washing ourselves by a sink, trying to get the blood off of us. I've seen a lot of blood in my life during foster care, but never like this before. I've never seen a living being explode before, nor did I have all their blood and guts all over me. I changed into my backup clothes, because I knew they were gonna kill Translucent, but didn't know how. I just wanted to be prepared. I am glad that I did. I walked out of the room where we kept Translucent to see Butcher and Frenchie scrapping Translucent's pieces off the walls and ceiling, using shovels. Dad walked over to them.

Hughie: "Sorry about all-"

Billy: "Oh, don't be stupid. You did us a favor."

I nodded my head, knowing they were gonna kill Translucent anyway. There is no need to apologize for killing him and making a mess. If Homelander didn't show up, Butcher would have exploded him as well, still making a mess they would have to clean up after.

Alex: "What are you gonna do with the...guts?"

Butcher laughed, I guess because I couldn't say body parts...since it's more guts than body parts.

Billy: "Ah, we'll take care of it."

Frenchie: "Sit down and relax, Petit Hughie, Petit Alex."

I nodded my head, knowing I needed to sit down. Though Dad started walking away, leaving. They looked at him confused.

Billy: "Oi, where do you think you're going?"

Hughie: "I'm going home. I need clothes."

I mean, he has a point. He can't stay in the clothes that have blood on them. People will start to ask questions about the blood.

Billy: "We'll get you clothes."

Hughie: "I want my clothes. I'll be right back. Alex, come on."

I nodded my head and stood up from the chair I was sitting on. 

Frenchie: "You are, perhaps...in a state of shock, mon ami."

I nodded my head, understanding this was the first time my father had killed another living being. Sure he's seen someone die in front of him, but he's never killed another person before.

Billy: "Hughie, you just arse-bombed America's sweetheart. You can't just piss off."

Alex; "Well, he didn't say he wanted to...piss off. He said he wants to go home to change."

My Dad nodded his head and Butcher sighed.

Billy: "All right. Frenchie will go with you two."

Dad looked at Butcher shocked. Why does Frenchie need to come with us? Is he scared that we will never come back?

Hughie: "Wait, what? No."

Billy: "Either he goes with you, or I break your legs."

Dad's eyes widened and his heart started to race as he looked at Butcher shocked and scared. He nodded his head, and Butcher smirked.

Billy: "Good lad."

We go to leave, leaving Butcher to clean up the mess. Wait...what does he plan on doing with the remains?

Alex: "Wait, Butcher? What do you plan on doing with Translucent's...remains?"

Frenchie: "Oh,  right. His skin won't burn off. Where are you gonna stash it that Homelander can't find it?"

Butcher looked at us and smirked. I don't think he plans on hiding it. I think he WANTS Homelander to find Translucent's remains. Almost as a warning to him that Translucent isn't gonna be the only superhero dead.
