"Eda, where are you going?!" Melo caught her friend already behind the door, quickly grabbing her jacket. "Eda!"

Eda sighed and stopped, turning to Melo with the same displeased facial expression she used to have whenever she was caught sneaking out to meet with Serkan and officially pretending just to go to do her job.

"I have a job to do." Melo cocked her brows, hearing this excuse. She perfectly knew Eda didn't have a job to do. They were working together, and her friend didn't have any task for today regarding their mission.

"Are you going to see your husband or ex-husband?"

Eda sulked at her, muttering something unintelligible under her breath.

"Eda, please. It's not good for you. You will fall back in again."

"I'm going to tell him to keep away! Tamam?!"

Melo looked after her friend, who spun on her heel and left, slamming the door behind her. She knew that maybe Eda would even tell Serkan that they would never see each other again, but she also knew it would be a lie because Eda just went to meet Serkan wearing her hair and makeup in the way he liked the most, dressed in his favorite color she avoided for two years like the plague. And what was worse, Melo knew Eda didn't sign the divorce papers because yesterday night she found in the garden what was left of them, burned and thrown into the trash bin.

She sighed heavily, locking the door and going up the first floor. She knew it wouldn't be the last meeting between Serkan and Eda, because every time her friend was going to tell Serkan to keep away she was moving in with him, getting engaged to him, and marrying him. Melo's only fear was what their second encounter would bring, and she was afraid it would be even worse in consequences than their first one, but it was unavoidable and already set in motion because Eda never could keep away from Serkan, and he was ready to move every rock on the earth to find her.

"Eda, where are you going?" Melo asked her friend, who was standing in front of the mirror by the door and making the final touches to her makeup.

"To do my job." Eda shrugged, trying to decide between the jackets and settling for a black, bicker one.

"Dressed like that?" The redhead cocked her brows, looking at her flared black pants paired with high heels, which made her long legs even longer, and the black sleeveless turtleneck. This outfit accentuated her every curve and emphasized her tiny waist.

"I'm working as an architect now. I can finally wear something I like."

"Go, you look great." Melo chuckled when Eda couldn't stop fixing her hair. "Serkan Bolat will die from a heart attack at your sight. This is your goal for today?"

Eda sulked, quickly abandoned the mirror, and moved toward the door. "I will keep him at bay."

"You mean his bay? The one you like to spend time in so much?" Melo teased her.

Eda squinted her eyes in a displeased grimace and slammed the door behind her.

A small group of ArtLife's employees gathered in the space between the doors leading to the hallway and the glass wall of one of their bosses' offices. They seemed to forget about their busy schedule and work and were gossiping among each other in hushed but excited voices.

Burcu, the new architect, who worked here for three months, stopped next to Leyla, Serkan Bolat's personal assistant, and looked questionably at the perplexed faces of her colleagues.
