In the passed I have said that I hated soccer practise for numerous reasons.

Reason that have me question why I'm on the team in the first place.

But today I absolutely love it.

Mainly because for the last twenty minutes we've been lying on the grass doing fuck all cause coach disappeared somewhere. Probably to his office.

If he won't do his duty as coach then I'm not doing my duty as captain. Works both ways.

"Where the hell is this grump?!" I have no idea why Leo isn't enjoying this free time away from the devil.

"Why the fuck do you care? That means we don't have to do anything whilst he's not out here coaching us" Marcus makes a great point.

"Leo either shut up or piss off" I tell him and he lies back down on the grass.

"I'm surprised Chase hasn't barges over to us and ordered us to do stuff yet or be heading straight to coach's office" Easton chimes in.

"Don't jinx it" Marcus groans.

"Do you guys not know that Lexi's in there right now?" Max says making me sit up and look at him.

"My Lexi?" I ask.

"Yes, your Lexi" he smirks at me "I was talking to her about it earlier she has no idea why. Maybe they're gossiping. They both do like to gossip" fair point.

"Ohhh I did see her but I thought it could have been someone else" Marcus sits up and brings a foam roller underneath his leg.

Me and Lexi. It's been- I don't know how to describe it. Anytime I think about what happened on Monday night I feel uncomfortable.

Being vulnerable around people is on the top of my hate list. It's because I loose control over myself.

On Monday night.
I lost complete control of myself.

I wasn't able to fall back asleep, I don't think she did either. I took a cold shower at three in the morning to clear my head- it did fuck all.

I got back into bed an hour away and did not fall asleep for the rest of the night. Since that night, she been there but kept her distance which I appreciated.

Each day I'm running on a few hours sleep, once I've woken during the night I can never get my brain to switch off again.

"Reece?"

"Yeah?" I zone back into the conversation.

"Did you hear anything we just said?" Easton asks me and I shake my head "that was cute you were in your own little world" he pouts and I throw a foam roller at him.

"What were you on about?"

"You have been so out of it recently, are you sure you should be back at school already?" Marcus looks at me with a concerned look.

"I kind of have to be back, otherwise I won't be able to graduate. The school inky think I was sick last week" I brush him off.

"Alright" he doesn't sound fully convinced.

"I agree with Marcus, Reece. Even though the school don't know, we do" they know enough, not the whole thing "I don't think you can get over something like so quickly" Leo continues.

"Just drop it" I mumble lying back down.

They're probably right but if I take another of school out then I won't graduate and coach will drop me from the team. So I will just force myself through the rest of the year and I'll give myself a break.

I got plenty of time to fix all my mistakes.
And to make a few more.

Coach finally appears outside again. He's calm. Why the fuck is he calm? I don't like it. He slowly wonder over to where we are on the grass, the other are pretending to be stretching.

"Are you all doing okay?" He asks us.
Did he just ask us if we're okay?

"Where is coach and what did you do with him?" Leo asks and coach glares at him "There he is! Welcome back" he then cheers.

"I'm being serious, are you doing okay? Marcus is the leg still sore from yesterday?"

"Lit-tl-e bit" Marcus stutters.

"Road to recovery" he chuckles, "rest of you?"

"All good" Easton and Leo both answer.

"Fantastic!" Max cheers.

"Reece?"

"I'm hanging in there" i answer.

"Good good" he nods, "already for the game coming up?" He asks and we all answer.

I'm ready to see Aiden Kingston snarky face again.

What the fuck was that?

"I prefer him when he's shouting, cursing and basically bullying me" Marcus states and I agree, "maybe his wife came back, that's why he could be happy again".

"That's possibly the strangest interaction I've ever had with him. What a confusing person" Max adds, "I wonder what him and Lexi were talking about"

Standing up from the grass I pick up my boots and pads from the ground and make my way into the locker room along with the others behind me.

"Can I ask you guys a really weird question?" I turn it look at them.

"Oh God this can't be good"

"when did you realise you loved your girls?"
