A knock on the door of her room stops the woman's movements, leaving the cannon on the cloth spread on the table she approaches the door, when she opens it she finds a cadet, he greets her formally before speaking.

"Lieutenant Morrigan, Captain Yamamoto requests your presence in his office" the lieutenant nods at the cadet's greeting before closing the door. Letting out a sigh she returns to her desk to quickly assemble the weapon, after years of practice she could do it blindfolded. Putting the weapon in the holster of her pants, she leaves her room and goes to the captain's office, who immediately shows her in with a small and sweet smile.

"You called me captain" she greets him formally, and with a nod she makes way for him to sit in one of the two chairs in front of his desk.

"Yes, you will be transferred to the American special forces group, the cargo plane will be ready at eleven o'clock" the lieutenant carefully observes the letter, which she assumes is her transfer order, that the captain slides on his desk in her direction, she nods taking it before getting up from the chair.

"I'll go pack my belongings then" she raises the letter before formally taking her leave. On the way to her quarters she is formally greeted by cadets and other lieutenants, everyone on the base had great respect and admiration for Lieutenant Morrigan, both for her accomplishments and her discipline. The fact that her character and personality were matched by her beauty made everyone stare at her wherever she went. Many sighed when they saw her pass by, and it was not only something that happened to men, many women blushed before the lieutenant, because Lieutenant Morrigan was someone that no one could forget or even look away. Once inside her room she opens the letter quickly reading the transfer order, she should stay at the new base for a year, then she could decide whether to return to the Japanese base or stay at the new assigned base. Somewhat calmer knowing that the transfer period would only be one year and that she would then have the opportunity to choose, Morrigan puts the letter on the table to start packing her belongings in her suitcases.

Closing the last suitcase she looks at the clock, ten o'clock in the morning, the plane would leave in an hour, having finished packing she could go eat in the dining room before leaving. A knock on the door catches her attention, opening it she finds three cadets she had been training for the last four weeks, they greet her formally before the one in front of the other two, Isamu Yoshida, speaks.

"Captain Yamamoto sends us to collect your bags, Lieutenant Morrigan."

"They are all ready, you can go in, I'll go to the dining room" the three boys nod respectfully bowing and going into the room. Morrigan goes to the dining room leaving the three of them to take their bags quietly.

"We will miss you Lieutenant" a cadet stops Morrigan, the news about her transfer had spread like wildfire during the three hours the lieutenant had been storing her belongings, everyone on the base knew about the transfer and was saddened by her departure.

"Thank you cadet" the cadet smiles with slightly flushed cheeks before formally saluting leaving the lieutenant to continue on her way to the mess hall.Taking one of the trays she joins the queue, those in front of her salute her formally before letting her pass, it was not their obligation to do so but they all admire the lieutenant and always let her pass.

"Dear lieutenant, we have prepared a farewell meal for you, we will miss you" Masashi, the base cook, hands her a different tray with the lieutenant's favorite dishes with a big smile which made his eyes disappear.

"Thank you Masashi" the lieutenant nods her head before heading towards the lieutenants' table. Gradually the dining room begins to fill, the captain who had decided to eat also in the dining room rises from his seat immediately silencing all the soldiers leaving the large room in a sepulchral silence. Raising a small glass of sake, he focuses his gaze on Lieutenant Morrigan who receives another glass of sake from her friend and partner, Lieutenant Takahiro Nakamura, the only one who could brag about his friendship on the base and being one of the most envied of the base. Only he and the captain had a close relationship with the lieutenant.

"Today we say goodbye to Lieutenant Morrigan who will be transferred to the American base, after seven years in our base we give her a bitter farewell, she will be missed at the base and we hope to have the pleasure of having her with us again" the lieutenant gets up from her seat and drinks the sake next to the captain with a small smile.

"Thank you very much captain, it has been a pleasure to be able to work in this base and a pleasure to train with you", the lieutenant observes her surroundings bowing her head slightly in respect. Taking her seat again, the lieutenant finishes her meal and leaves the mess hall with Takahiro.

"I can't believe you have been transferred, well, I can believe it, you are an excellent soldier but we are all going to miss you, you won't get rid of me so fast anyway," warns the Japanese man, making the lieutenant smile with amusement.

"I hope you don't try to stowaway, I'll kick your ass out of the plane," she pushes the lieutenant with her shoulder, making him laugh.

"All right, I'll have to go to plan B then," he shrugs, rolling her eyes at the lieutenant who pauses in the frame of what will now be her old room where she had spent the last three years of her life."If the rooms are bigger than the ones here I will immediately ask for my transfer," Takahiro joked, peeking his head into the room, it was equal to his own in size although the furniture was distributed differently.

"I'd better not tell you anything about the room, now that I finally get rid of you," Morrigan smiles sideways seeing the offended gesture of his friend.

"Come on, the plane is about to leave, now that you're leaving it's my time to shine and make everyone adore me," he pushes the lieutenant down the corridor, who denies amused. As soon as they leave the building they both get into a jeep to head towards the runway where a large cargo plane was standing with its tailgate open. Next to the plane were most of the military members of the base headed by the captain, only those who indispensable had to be on the base were missing.

"Morrigan, it has been an honor to work with you, the Japanese base has a gift for you," the captain beckoned to two cadets who quickly approached with a large leather box in their hands. Standing in front of the lieutenant they hold up the box and let her open it to reveal a katana, taking it out of the case she observes it and moves it with expert agility. The motto of the base is engraved on the blade of the katana making the lieutenant smile somewhat nostalgically even though she had not yet left.

"Today's victory is over your yesterday self, tomorrow's victory will be over an inferior man."

"It has been an honor to be under your command, sir," Morrigan bows to the captain, leaving the katana in the case before taking it gently. The captain formally salutes the lieutenant before all the soldiers simultaneously bow to the lieutenant showing respect for her. Morrigan reciprocates the salute before boarding the plane.

"Call me as soon as you arrive," Takahiro shouts as the hatch begins to close, Morrigan keeps her eyes on the base until the hatch finishes closing, after letting out a sigh she lowers her gaze to the case on her legs as the plane begins to move down the runway, heading for what would be her home for the next year.
