Morrigan was in one of the rings in the silent and empty gym, something normal in the wee hours of the early morning. It was only 4am when the lieutenant had gotten up and headed to the training barracks silently with her inseparable katana. With the only sound that the rapid movements with the sword cause and Morrigan's controlled breaths as the only sounds in the spacious place, the lieutenant practices her agility with extreme concentration. On the other side of the base John Price comes out of his room after being awakened by a call from his superiors ordering a new mission that could not wait for the first rays of dawn, the intel they had obtained was of extreme confidentiality and TF141 should act quickly before the enemy left the place recently discovered by intelligence. With quick steps he heads for the lieutenants' barracks and knocks on the first door as soon as he enters the barracks."What is it now?" grunts Soap, opening the door sleepily after being awakened by the repeated knocks on his door at such an early hour. "We have a mission, we leave in thirty, notify the rest of the lieutenants," Price orders before turning and leaving the barracks in search of several cadets to prepare the means of transport. "Captain," the radio attached to Price's vest lights up at Soap's call."What's going on?" the captain asks before ordering two cadets to fill both jeeps' gas tanks, the location was several hours away by car."Morrigan is not in her room," murmured Soap, who had ended up opening the door to the lieutenant's room under the gaze of the rest of his companions after knocking four times. "Search for her around the base," he orders before starting to search on his own."You heard the captain, let's look for her" Soap closes the door to the empty room after hearing Price's command."I'll go to the kitchen," Alejandro mutters before leaving the barracks.
Price's attention is drawn to the dim light streaming through the windows of the training barracks, he curiously approaches one of the windows. His breath catches in his chest as he catches sight of Lieutenant Morrigan, his bluish gaze intently watching each and every one of her movements, the thin layer of sweat glistening on her body in the dim light as she moves with panther-like agility."I have found her," he murmurs into the radio without taking his eyes off the lieutenant, who continues with her practice, exempting her audience. "Take your weapons and a quick pass through the kitchen, the jeeps are waiting at the door of the base," he murmurs silently heading for the door of the barracks, watching the lieutenant through every window he passes. The slight creak caused by the door opening alerts the lieutenant who gracefully turns in on herself ready to defend against an attack when her gaze collides with the captain's who can't help but notice the way the lieutenant's chest rises and falls at her agitated breathing and the way her parted lips sigh with each exhalation.'"Good morning captain" salutes, standing upright in her place and lowering her katana, Price clears his throat, centering himself."We have a mission, we leave in twenty, the cars are waiting at the main gate of the base," the lieutenant approaches Price putting the katana away before leaving the training barracks with her captain. "I'll explain the data once in the car," Morrigan nods before running off to her room to shower in record time making sure to tie her hair up tightly so it doesn't get wet as she sheds the layer of sweat. "Where was Morrigan?" Soap asked as soon as he spotted Price. They were all standing by the two jeeps, fully armed and ready to go."In the training barracks practicing with his katana," he murmurs, stroking his beard in abstraction. "I'd pay to see that," Alejandro smiles, Soap nods in agreement."Okay, let's focus on the mission, I don't want absent-mindedness" Price claps his hands, drawing the attention of everyone present, but it doesn't last long because all eyes are focused on the respected lieutenant."There she is," murmurs Soap as he sees the lieutenant come out of the barracks at a brisk pace, fully prepared for action."Sorry to have kept you waiting," standing between Price and Ghost who had watched carefully as she approached the group under her mask. "Well, let's get in the cars, Lieutenant Morrigan with me" Price points to both cars before heading towards the driver's seat of one of them being followed by Soap, Morrigan, Ghost and König. The lieutenant is squeezed between Ghost and Soap in the back seats leaving König to take the co-pilot's seat. Price clears his throat, turning on the radio before starting the car to leave the base."Well, we have received some last minute information, there is a small group that has been seen and confirmed working with Makarov, we need the ringleader and his right hand man alive," Price explains after checking that he could be heard in the other car. "Do we know how many of them there are?" Price's gaze looks through the rearview mirror at the lieutenant with a small, sweet smile under his well-groomed beard. "The last count is thirty-four, but don't be overconfident, the number may have changed," he warns. "We'll split into two groups and two snipers on the rooftops of the adjoining buildings, Ghost and Soap," they both nod with serious faces, the tension palpable in the air the closer they get to the location.
Thirty minutes later both jeeps stop behind one of the buildings adjacent to the target so as not to be seen by any of the guards posted at the only two entrance doors of the building.
"Well, the fact that we are doing this in broad daylight puts us at a disadvantage but the orders are clear, we must attack and get our target before nightfall, there are rumors of their relocation and we will lose them again, those sons of bitches are very slippery," growls John putting on his fisherman's hat. "Separate, we attack both gates simultaneously in exactly two minutes, take positions" he orders pointing to both directions for the two groups, the soldiers nod with serious gestures and the two groups split up as well as Ghost and Soap who move quickly to take up positions on the rooftops as soon as possible.
