The base was completely silent at five in the morning, something that delighted the lieutenant who leaves her barracks ready to run and finish exploring the base. With the katana strapped to her back, Morrigan runs with a firm step observing the surroundings and memorizing the only two entrances and exits of the base. An hour later she spots her comrades Ghost and Soap leaning against the wall next to the door of the lieutenants' barracks, their eyes on the lieutenant who is heading towards the barracks to take a shower before breakfast.
"Good morning lieutenants" Morrigan greets, stopping in front of the barracks door.
"Good morning Morrigan, how do you tie your katana so that it doesn't bother you while you run?" Soap tilts his head to one side observing the katana with curiosity.
"I'll show you how to tie it later if you want, see you at breakfast" nods looking at Ghost for several seconds before going into the barracks and meeting Alejandro.
"Good morning, linda, we have started the day off right" he smiles observing the sweat on the lieutenant's forehead, she smiles sideways.
"Good morning, Alejandro" she nods, resuming her walk, passing by the lieutenant's side on her way to her room.
"You can call me Ale, I'll have Craig leave your tray ready for you," he shouts behind the lieutenant's back as she arrives at the door to her room, she turns in his direction and nods with a smile before walking into her room.
"She looks hot, even sweating" Alejandro nods, walking out of the barracks and running into Ghost and Soap.
"We had been watching her running around the base for half an hour, she looks like a superhero running with a katana on her back," Soap explains to the silence of Ghost who, apparently, was not a man of many words.
"Let's go to the dining room, I'll ask them to leave her tray ready for her- mutters Alejandro, receiving Soap's mockery and the continued silence of the masked man.
Minutes later the doors of the mess hall are opened by the lieutenant calling the attention of the soldiers inside the room, Morrigan heads towards the food bar noticing the stares on her.
"I have your tray ready," Craig announces with a big smile before turning to take the tray previously prepared for the lieutenant at Alejandro's request.
"Thank you Craig," the lieutenant smiles at him taking the tray before turning to go to the lieutenants' table where there is an empty seat saved for her between Alejandro and Soap. -Thank you," the lieutenant nods to Alejandro, setting her tray down on the table.
"It's nothing linda" the Mexican lieutenant winks at her smilingly.
"After breakfast in the training barracks," announces Captain Price at the head of the table, the lieutenant nods slightly as the captain's gaze falls on her.
"Let's see what dough you're made of," Gaz looks at the Lieutenant in amusement, they were all curious about the Lieutenant and had heard of the feats she had accomplished but wanted to see for themselves. Without paying much attention to the looks directed towards her, Morrigan takes her breakfast quietly listening to the conversations of the lieutenants around her and answering the questions directed towards her.
After breakfast, the mess hall begins to empty quickly, almost everyone heading for the training barracks, all wanting to see Lieutenant Morrigan in action, bets were whispered between soldiers who waited impatiently for the hand-to-hand combat between the lieutenants.
"We've got quite an audience I see" Price stands on one of the wrestling rings outside the gymnasium barracks where many soldiers, mostly cadets, had crowded together. "Well, who wants to start?" the soldiers encourage the lieutenants, Soap ends up entering the ring receiving applause from the audience which applauds furiously when the lieutenant points to Morrigan so that she approaches. Under the expectant gazes of everyone, including the captain and the two masked men, Morrigan enters the ring as she unstraps her katana to leave it on the edge of the ring.
"Ready to bite the dust?" Soap watches her with a lopsided grin as the soldiers cheer them both on. At the captain's signal the fight is on. Morrigan adopts a defensive pose observing the position and movements of the lieutenant who, after observing her for several seconds, launches an attack. Morrigan dodges with agility, earning the applause of several soldiers.
"Come on lieutenant" Soap signals for Morrigan to attack when she just dodges his attacks, the lieutenant smiles lopsidedly before attacking catching the scottish lieutenant off guard even though he had asked her to do so. In a quick and agile movement she manages to catch the lieutenant in a key throwing them both to the floor of the ring due to the force exerted when attacking. Both masked men watch with crossed arms and amused eyes as Soap tries to get out of the grip in vain."Surrender," mutters the lieutenant as Soap's face begins to turn redder and redder from lack of air. Several seconds later the lieutenant's hand hits Morrigan's leg several times, making the audience explode as some of them exchange money.
"Dare to fight linda?" Morrigan turns around watching as Alejandro enters the ring with a big smile as Soap pats the lieutenant's shoulder regaining his breath.
"Good fight," he murmurs with a small smile.
"Likewise," Morrigan nods, giving the Scotsman a small smile before turning her attention to the Mexican.
"Do you accept the challenge?" Price watches the lieutenant carefully and a big smile stretches his lips as the lieutenant nods her head in a defensive posture again. Both lieutenants circle the ring in sync, watching the opponent closely before Alejandro lunges at Morrigan and lands a blow to the abdomen.
"Are you all right?" the Mexican approaches the lieutenant with concern as she doubles over from the blow.
"Better than ever," mutters Morrigan before attacking with more force and speed than she had used on the Scotsman, surprising more than one. Morrigan lands several blows, one of them in the face of the Mexican leaving him somewhat dazed, taking advantage of it, Morrigan turns on herself to sweep the lieutenant's legs knocking him down making a sharp blow when he hits the ground. Without even stopping to think about it, the lieutenant stands over Alejandro raising her elbow before moving it quickly towards the lieutenant's face stopping just millimeters away from his face, the soldiers applaud enthusiastically at Lieutenant Morrigan's demonstration. "Good fight" Morrigan helps the Mexican, whose jaw was turning redder and redder from her blow, to his feet.
"Remind me not to mess with you," laughs Alejandro, Morrigan smiles amused, taking the katana to strap it back on her hip.
