TitanicThe steward accompanied the young woman to her cabin, passing through the long luxurious corridors of the ship, leaving even the wealthiest of men on board open-mouthed.
The man opened the door making Meredith enter first and she carefully observed every corner of the room "Miss Moore? Where do I put your bags?" the steward asked the girl, who turned around and said: "Leave them here, I'll take care of it" the man nodded her head as a sign of approval and left the room.Meredith, once alone, took off her hat and gloves and threw them on the sofa in the center of the cabin, in front of an enormous golden fireplace and a dazzling light that pierced through the room's large windows. Meredith sighed and then got up and walked towards the bedroom and then to the bathroom and then to arrange the luggage in the wardrobe.
A few hours passed after the girl finished arranging her clothes, the ship had already sailed for a long time, most of the people were already around the ship exploring the most wonderful places on it. Meredith decided to go for a walk on the first class deck, changing into a red dress and matching hat that set off her fair skin and blue eyes, making her blonde hair stand out, which she let loose on her back. A dress that would not seem to belong to a first-class lady, but more of a woman with an eventful life full of follies, this was said by the eyes of the women who met the gaze of the young woman on the deck of the Titanic, but it certainly wasn't what the eyes of each man who passed by her said...The insistent gazes of men on her body was a habit for her. In addition to the usual scams, for a short time, Meredith worked in a brothel, she was too young to do a similar job, needless to say she had been involved in a similar situation, at the time she was dating a man perhaps ten years older than her and with the promise of to keep her, he ended up working as a dancer in one of the most dangerous districts of London. That career briefly led her to prostitute in the city's wealthy neighborhoods to earn a little extra... Dean certainly didn't agree, but Meredith told him everything was under control and it was true. Even though it was a brutal thing to do to her, Meredith gave her a sense of complacency, for that little time she felt loved and desired by men who only paid to have her body for a few hours.
Meredith's thoughts stopped when in the distance she saw a tall man with a top hat in the company of a young woman with curly red hair, Caledon and Rose... But how could she approach? Meredith walked towards them wearing a fake smile. "I have to compliment you for your dress Miss" The blonde stopped in front of the couple smiling, a smile that didn't go unnoticed, especially by him, Caledon "Oh, thank you very much... and you are?" Evidently embarrassed Rose looked at the man next to her who didn't stop observing the young woman who had approached them few seconds before "Meredith Moore, nice to meet you and nice to meet you too, Mr?..." she shook hands with girl then passed it to the man "Mr. Hockley, Caledon Hockley..." he replied leaving a kiss on her hand "A gentleman! I think I read about you somewhere" Meredith told him knowing that was what he wanted to hear "I don't doubt it Miss Moore... Tell me now, are you travelling alone? What's your occupational?" With that question the blonde girl felt displaced "Oh Cal don't start with your usual interrogation, a pretty girl like her will certainly do a respectable job and as rich as anyone on this ship, especially in the first class..." Rose said to the man beside her.
"Don't worry dear, no problem...Mr. Hockley you will be interested to know that I have inherited a large oil company from my father who unfortunately died, and I am returning to America for this. I was in England for other interests..." A lie , one of many, Dean would have nudged her if he had heard her tell certain things to real millionaires, but he wasn't there and the diamond was waiting for her, somehow she had to do "Very interesting Miss Moore, very interesting indeed this makes her the richest woman on this ship..." Caledon smiled at her "Maybe..." she answered him with a smile "It was a pleasure meeting you Miss Moore, I hope to see you again soon" Rose smiled at blonde young lady"The pleasure is all mine Miss?" Meredith asked but already knowing the answer "How rude! I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Rose... Rose De Witt Bukater" Meredith smiled at her and approaching her said: "A very long name huh?" making the redhead giggle receiving a look of incomprehension from her future husband.
The blonde lifts her heels and continues on her way, feeling a sense of sadness to see the poor Rose evidently trapped in a marriage she doesn't want, you don't need to know her to read in her eyes that that man is not the man that she loves and the man she would like to spend her life with. But Meredith now certainly couldn't think about this and ruin her day, she finally managed to get to know the famous Caledon Hockely that she needed to know to get to the much desired diamond.———————-
