Meredith stepped out of the first class area onto the deck immediately feeling the cold air on her face. Lighting a cigarette, Meredith was able to immediately feel her body warm up and relax, when she noticed a male figure to her left approaching "Mr Lowe, is that you?" Meredith asked smiling and blowing the smoke out of her mouth "It's me... why always alone on the deck, Miss Moore?" he asked getting closer to the girl "I like being alone, officer... and you? Are you following me by any chance... again?" the blonde said smiling "It seems our meetings are part of destiny..." the officer answered scrutinizing the girl in the dark of the night "Don't exaggerate, officer" she smiled going back to look at the dark sea "Do you want one?" she asked showing him the pack of cigarettes "Oh no, I don't smoke, you shouldn't either... you're too young, Miss Moore" he said "You worry about me Mr Lowe" He smiled embarrassed looking around "Who wouldn't" sighing the girl looked at the young man and then she nodded to him to follow her and so he did "You are a very interesting man, Mr Lowe..." she said as they both walked up and down the deck of the ship "And you you're not like all the other first-class women, are you?" he continued "You guessed it Mr Lowe, actually I'm not the woman many think I am, I'm different" Meredith wanted to impress him; she liked him since the evening he helped her get back to her room safe and sound, she didn't mind staying in the company of a handsome man like Harold "You're a special girl I knew right away, Miss Moore. A first-class woman would never find herself on the deck of a ship with an unknown man in the middle of the night. .." Harold said "I like to risk, officer." she smiled at him "How old are you, Miss" this question arose to the officer, he couldn't be alone with a passenger, especially first class, at night, during his shift and especially if too young "Do you really want to know my age Mr Lowe?" seeing the curious and 'worried' look of the man in front of her she replied "Twenty-three" lie "Why do I get the feeling it's not your age, Miss Moore?" he asked. Meredith didn't want to let anyone know much about her, after all she was on that ship to steal a diamond worth millions of dollars, it's already risky enough to have approached so many people, perhaps it would have been better if she had remained 'invisible' "How old are you Miss ?" He repeated. Meredith sighed, she was about to lie again when something inside her told her not to lie to this man"Eighteen, officer" she replied "Eighteen" repeated Harold in a sigh "And you Mr Lowe?" the boy sighed before answering "Twenty-eight, Miss" the girl looked at him smiling for a few seconds "Well, that would be a scandal" For Meredith it certainly wasn't a novelty, she had dated even much older men than Harold "It would be scandal and I'd lose my job" he said "Then don't stay with me, Mr Lowe" continued the girl getting closer to the man's face putting him in evident awe "Something tells me not to do it, Miss Moore..." not it's nothing new what the girl's ears heard, but said by Harold they sounded very different inside her, they made her vibrate, blush, shiver and smile. Although they didn't know each other well, Meredith could see and feel from the short distance that separated them, the desire in his eyes. "Yes, you're a very particular man, Mr Lowe," she said, walking away and making the young officer come back to reality.
The girl walked towards the entrance of the first class from where she had left minutes ago without saying anything to the man who was with her "Where are you going now?" Harold asked her running towards her grabbing her "I'm going back to the cabin, officer" the girl answered looking at the hand of the man holding her arm "When can I meet you again?" Harold asked after a few seconds of silence looking into her eyes illuminated by the light of the night stars. Meredith couldn't risk being discovered, she couldn't see him again and be distracted by this man, however much she wanted to "You can't, Mr Lowe..." she replied smiling at him and going on "I don't even know your name..." he sighed before seeing her disappear behind the door.
