"what the fuck is wrong with you? like genuinely?" matt smacked the back of chris' head. "you are a fucking idiot!" he sighed loudly in disappointment.

chris only rubbed the back of his head and let his brothers berate him.

"i cant even count on my fingers the amount of times you've cried over her and yet you still fucking couldn't answer her when she tried to talk to you! you fucking moron!" matt ran his hands over his face.

"yeah. i know, man." chris mumbled quietly. he didnt even have it in him to say anything else. he knew he fucked up, it was eating him alive. his knees sat against his chest and he, himself was sitting on his bedroom floor against his bed while nick sat on his chair and matt paced the room.

"matt, calm down. you're being a little dramatic."

"no, nick! he had a fucking chance to even be friends with her again! the thing hes been wanting more than fucking anything. hes told us thats what he wants. ive listened to him cry and rant until he fell asleep about how fucking badly he wanted taylor. how badly he felt about himself because of what she fucking did. so, no. im not going to chill the fuck out." he took a deep breath.

nick only rolled his eyes. he understood where matt was coming from, he had also listened to every one of the late night break downs and rants that kept him up. but he would listen to them a million times over for chris. but, he also knew matt was overreacting. it was a very specific situation between chris and taylor that would hopefully never happen to anyone else.

it almost felt like the story between them had ended a long time ago. when she broke up with him the last page was finished and the pen would put down with intentions of never being picked up again.

every interaction since felt like the author was adding onto the story on scraps of paper and quick doodles on napkins filled with only the first thoughts that had come to their mind. it felt rushed and not very thought-through. almost like someone wanted for something to happen, but were unsure of how to execute it.
