Chapter 7

We woke up the next day a bit earlier then we normally did but I got up and decided to cook breakfast for everyone given the events of the night before, it didn't take long for Doll to come out but she didn't look well "Doll? What's wrong dear? You don't look okay" I ask "I didn't sleep much" she says "Are you feeling alright? Come here" I say waving her over. She slowly made her way over and once she did I felt her head and felt she was warm, very warm "Oh dear your over heating!" I say walking to our washroom and grabbing some of the coolant and bringing it back out I poured some of it on a spoon "Here dear take this" I say holding it up. She swallowed it but scrunched her face as it tasted horrible, "Now you get some proper rest, I'll be in soon to check on you, are you hungry?" I asked "No" she says before getting out of her chair, I carefully pulled her into my arms giving her a hug "Dad" she says before resting her head on my chest "I know you have some powers Doll" I say "What?" She asked "Here follow me" I say leading her to a room, I opened the door and grabbed a folder pulling out some pictures "This, it's called Absolute Solver. It's been breaking the mirrors in your room hasn't it?" I asked "Y yeah, how did you know?" She asked "Nori has it as well and so does Uzi but I don't think she realizes it yet. It's very dangerous if not controlled properly over heating is just one of its many side effect. So please don't use it, I know you've been sneaking cans of my oil to use it, we'll have a sit down soon and explain everything but for now and your safety don't use it" I say "Okay, am I in trouble?" She asked "No dear, it's okay your just curious and there's nothing wrong with that. But just remember this, curiosity killed the cat" I say "What's the supposed to mean?" She asked "Your curiosity could get you killed if your not careful" I say "Oh..." she says "I'm just trying to keep you safe dear, now go lay down and get some proper sleep" I say closing the closet again. I took Doll to her room and got her back in bed kissing her forehead before heading back to the kitchen. After a while Nori came out "Morning sweetie" I say smiling to her "Good morning" she says "Doll isn't feeling the best, she's been using Absolute Solver" I say "What!" She says "Don't worry I've already explained some of it to her and asked her not to use it till we can do it safely like you can" I say "We are not taking her to that lab! I'm still haunted by the memories of that place" she says "I know but we have to protect her and Uzi, the sentinels are free for a reason to keep us safe on our travels there" I say "I know but the memories are still so fresh to me, only once I got out did I realize how horrific it all really was in there" she says "I know dear, and I'm not asking you to go back, I'll take them there once we get it figured out and get there solver locked down" I say "Okay, just remember who else is down there" she says "Alice, I know I'll keep an eye out for her, at least Scraps is friendly" I say "Maybe we should free him from there, he's just as much a victim as I was" she says "Maybe but it's his choice and he seems to like it down there with the others" I say "Ill go check on Doll and apologize about last night" she says "Alright" I say as she left to head to Dolls room, I got breakfast done and set the table with plates with food. I then went to wake Uzi up and got to her room and knocked on the door and I didn't get a response. I carefully opened it and found her sleeping hanging off the bed I smiled and walked over and picked her up which woke her up "Hmm... dad?" She said "Yeah, it's me. You were half off the bed, and breakfast it ready" I say "Okay, I'll be out in a second" she says as I set her down on her bed "We need to have a talk about somethings once Doll is feeling better" I say "Okay?" She says before there was a sudden knocking on the door "Sounds like we might have company" I say leaving her room only for the door to burst open and N was there holding V in his arms "Y/n! She needs help something is wrong!" He says panicking. I walked over and took V looking her over and she was in rough shape, her lights and screen were dim and she was nearly frozen. I took her over to the couch as Nori came out hearing the commotion "What's going on?" She asked worried "It's V I don't know what happened! I went out and she was fine but when I came back she was on the floor not responding and freezing cold!" N says panicking "Nori you take N to the other room and grab blankets and medicine, I'll try and figure out what's going on" I say. Nori nodded and lead N to the other room, I tapped into V to see if I could figure out what was wrong and it didn't take long "Build up? Has she been drinking burnt oil?" I thought, N came rushing back in with blankets and pillows "What's wrong!?" He asked handing them to me "Better question have you been feeding her burnt oil?" I asked "Ahhh maybe" he says "There's the problem N! It's clogging her systems! You've been actively killing her by doing that!" I say as Nori came in with some medicine "So what do we do?" She asked "Help me get her to the bath, we need to drain her system of the clogs" I say "What!? Won't that kill her!?" N asked fearfully "The chances are low, but if we don't then she'll definitely die" I say picking her up. I carried her to the bath and set her down inside, I ran a scan to see where the clogs were and once I did I began cutting them open which did have the effect of draining her oil as well so I worked quickly to clean them out and soon had finished cleaning them out, her body fixed itself and I got her cleaned up but I took her jacket off given it was soaked in oil, I gave it to Nori to run in the wash while I finished up with her. I got her dried off and wrapped in a blanket before taking her back to the couch and setting her up with a small bed there, I put more then a few blankets on her to hopefully heat her up a bit faster. I walked over to a chair and sat down letting out a sigh taking a minute to relax before I noticed Uzi standing in her doorway looking at V then N then me with a rather worried look "V need help and N brought her here" I say as she carefully walked over trying to not get spotted by N "But she tried to kill us all yet you save her" she says "Your right and I have no warm feelings towards her but N cares about her and he's a friend so I'll help despite me own feelings about her" I say "Uzi!" N says walking only for her to hide behind me "Uzi he isn't to blame for whatever happened that night" I say pulling her back out from behind me "I don't know anything about what that was or what Absolute Solver is" he says "Absolute Solver? Nori!" I say shouting for her, she came into view "Yes?" She asked "Can you explain what you know about Absolute Solver to them? It seems they've had an interaction with something from it" I say "You know what's wrong with me?" Uzi asked. Nori used her solver to pick N up and set him in a chair next to Uzi "There's nothing wrong with you, but yes I know what it is dear as does your father" she says "I'll go check on V and see how she's doing" I say getting up.

I got over to V and saw her moving slightly in her sleep so at least she was okay, but it was long before Doll came out and noticed V on the couch, she went back to her room slamming the door "Ahh fuck" I thought realizing V was her number one enemy "Where am I?" I heard V ask "Oh your awake" I say "Y/n?" She asked groggy "Yeah, N brought you here and I fixed you up. Seems you've been drinking burnt oil and it clogged your systems" I say "Oh thanks..." she says before coughing "Stay in bed, get some rest and drink some proper oil" I say pointing to the can next to her "Okay" she says resting her head on the pillow again "Now I have to go chat with my other daughter" I say "You have a second one?" She asked "Yeah we adopted her after you orphaned her" I say as she got a small look of guilt "Then why did you help me?" She asked "Because N asked, and I'm a bigger person then that" I say but in reality I knew V would have survived either way so it was just better to help and possibly make some friends then have them dislike me. V didn't say anything else so I pulled her blankets up a bit more which surprised her, I went to Dolls room and knocked on the door before opening it I found her on her bed messaging most likely Lizzy "Ah hey Pumpkin" I say knowing this wasn't going to be a pleasant conversation "Why is she here!" She snapped "I know I know, N brought her here and asked for help" I say "She killed my parents!" She shouts "I know she did, and you have every right to be mad and angry with her" I say "So why did you help her!" She shouts putting her phone down "N is a friend and he asked for help, and I'm a better person then I think I am or would ever admit. She won't be here long, once she's got some strength back her and N will be out of the apartment" I say "I'm going to Lizzy's till then! She's already checked with her father and I'm more then welcome!" She says "Okay, just keep us updated on how your doing okay? And remember please don't use your powers" I say before leaving the room. I headed back over to the group and found Uzi and N seemed to be back on good terms with Nori explaining about the powers to them, since they were doing that I did the dishes left over from breakfast.
