Hotaru's POV:
"I guess it couldn't hurt for you to know. It doesn't make much of a difference." A bitter smile on her face made me shudder, "My real name is Koizumi Luna."
As her voice rings in my head I feel a wave of nausea come over me. I hold up my hand to my forehead, pressing hard as if it was the only way to compose myself. Why did that name sound so familiar? I try to remind myself of the words this crazy girl has uttered. Alice. ESP. Mikan's ability. Torture. Memory Loss.
Ha...all of this is stupid yet I can tell that this girl isn't lying. I can tell by her voice that she can't be the same age as us. And the way she talks about Mikan is strange to say the least. Everything that she has said screams suspicion. But that sad smile on her face and the fact that she hasn't hurt Mikan at all doesn't match what she says. Maybe she doesn't really want to capture Mikan...maybe she's being forced to do something bad because of this ESP person. I finally figure out that she was referring to a person and not a thing.
Who is the ESP?
I turn away from her unusually gaze and start heading home. I just need to sleep on it.
"Wait. I change my mind." I pause and turn my head slightly. She grabs my wrist and some kind of weird feeling appears. My whole body shivers and then grows stiff. "You're under my control now." She announces. I try to ask what just happened but the words are stuck in my throat. I can't move. "It's not personal... It's just... you may prove to be a little useful. Don't worry... I'll give you something in exchange."
Then it all turns black.
Everywhere I turn is black...
Then there's a voice,
"Tell Mikan...I was happy." I see a girl who looks exactly like me but in a weird uniform, a short distance away from me. She has puffy eye's probably from crying too much, and she's gripping onto someone with similar features. A relative of hers?
She grips onto his shoulder as everything grows blurry and fuzzy. They disappear and then again it's the same girl. The girl is on the wet streets, she's very pale and ill. I can't see her relative anywhere.
But a blurry man and woman come and pick her up. The man gives her a piggy-back ride and they walk away. I fall on my knees...pressing my palms hard on the surface of...whatever it is. I'm in a room that's totally dark but scenes keep playing around me. I think and only one thing comes to mind...they must be memories but...
Whose exactly?
"Figured it out yet?" A voice echoes outside of the black space. I glance around me but nothings visible but the memories. "These are your memories!" The voice yells angrily at me and I cover my ears painfully. "Yours, damn it."
Tears spring from my eyes. "They're my memories?" I repeat back and everything starts shaking crazily. I hold my arms over my head. It's too much to bear, too soon.
"Do I need to spell it out for you Imai?"
Everything stops, it's quiet now. All of sudden a scene appears out of nowhere again but this time it isn't me...it's a familiar clumsy girl with an idiotic smile.
"Hotaru~I love you!!!" A brunette with twin pigtails yells out with open arms. She's wearing a cute pink dress. A goofy smile is plastered on her face and her dimples show, making her look like a total airhead. It brings smile to my lips.
The scene changes again and it shows me in that weird uniform again, with the girl. She's sobbing but attempting to stop by wiping her eyes with her sleeves.
"Hotaru." She rubs her eyes. "Is this okay now?" Her hands reach up to each cheek and pulls them up, making a forced smile. I chuckle as I lean back on my arms. "I wanted to see you so badly Hotaru, so I traveled all the way here."
I widen my eyes as I notice the place they're at, the mountains look familiar but I don't remember that large forest surrounding the me and that brunette.
"Hotaru. Can I hug you?" The brunette asks with puppy eyes. I sigh but eventually open my arms for her.
"Come here dummy." I say with a stoic expression. The brunette sprints towards me with tears falling back and the scene ends.
I close my eyes and when I open them...I'm back. Back to the a world with color and I let out a sigh of relief. It also seems that Koizumi is gone too. I guess I'll just have to deal with her later.
But for now I have to find that pig tailed brunette. That idiot. Just what can she do without me? Maybe she can tell me what's happened. The memories are slowly starting to come back but I need her to fill in the blanks. She's the only one who can tell me who I really am.
