(Continuing Katashi's Backstory)
He couldn't move. Her chest rose up and down slowly until it completely stopped within two seconds. His life flashed before him, it all came back to him.
The Day he met her...
The Day it all began...
...
Well, you finally came to the door/And we talked for an hour or more/Until I asked if you would stay up 'til four/And you said, "That's fine." But you said, "There's something I have to say, and I can't because I'm just so afraid."/And so I held you as you started to shake that night.
Wednesday, the day in which everyone in town had been invited to a ball. The mayor decided to hold a party to celebrate his daughters birth. People from all over the world came to this ball and no one was left out. From the poorest of the poor to the richest of the rich came and had free food and drinks.
Katashi had been given a mission. To bring a former student from the Academy back to Kuonji. He wore a black and white suit and every girl gazed at him in admiration. He winked at every single one of them. A girl never really caught his eye before that day. None captured him instantly like she did.
She sat at a bar with a full drink in front of her and head down on the table. Her golden hair shone so bright that it blinded him for a moment. That's when he looked her way. He saw how she twirled her cup around, sloshing it around and around. She was clearly bored all by herself.
He was caught speechless. He wanted to take a closer look, to see the other side of the blond beauty, to see her precious colored orbs. But what could he say or do?
Without a second thought, he sat in the empty seat next to her. She didn't acknowledge his presence, not even flinch or glance his way. She just knew he was there, but she didn't care who he was. He coughed a little and whistled. He looked everywhere but her. How could he make it so she'd look his way? He just wanted to see her eyes, her lips, her face. That's all he wanted to do.
"Hey..." he cleared his throat.
She turned her head in his direction and her lashes batted her pink cheeks. Her pale skin shone like pearls and her hair hugged her face in curls.
"Yes?" Even her voice came out as sweet as strawberries. He panicked, he was tongue-tied, unable to speak because he was so shocked by it all. It was as if an angel fell from the heavens and just so happen to appear before him.
"Uh... E-excuse me, do you know where the restroom is? I've been holding it for a while now... " He mentally slapped himself and cursed silently.
"Pft..." A giggle escaped her lips and she burst out laughing. His eyes widened at how much more beautiful she was when she laughed. It made him smile. "What?" He looked away and blushed beet red.
"Nothing." He mumbled shyly.
"There." She tried to hide her smile.
"What?"
"The restroom is over... there."
"Oh... right." He got up and walked towards the direction she pointed to, although he didn't need to go. He looked back and saw her in the same position though, it didn't look like she'd go anywhere. Quickly he went to the bathroom and rinsed his face. He couldn't stop smiling that eventually he couldn't take it any longer. He went back out and went back to the bar she sat at. Nothing was there but the same cup she had in her hand.
