S7 - Chapter Twenty Seven - Gaining Allies

"It's okay..."

We arrived at hilltop and they opened the gates to allow Rick to drive through. It were slightly strange to be greeted by the people as we exited the car but I walked straight over to Maggie, wrapping my arms around her. Embracing her for the first time since that night and she held me a little longer than usual.

"How's Glenn?" She asked once we had pulled away.
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" A voice asked from behind me and her face looked stunned.
"Glenn?" She asked with a nervous chuckle before she walked over and hugged him tightly too.

"I need to breathe" Glenn stated and Maggie quickly pulled away as I walked over to the two.
"How are you doing?" She asked him and I could tell she were feeling slightly overwhelmed.

"I'm as good as it's going to get" Glenn replied as I moved to stand beside him and he wrapped his arm around my waist, "I'll heal" He added quietly.

"How have you been doing, Mags?" I asked and she took a deep breath then sighed.
"I'm trying my best but this Gregory guy is no leader, we need a change in power" She replied and I slowly nodded my head at her.

"And How's Sasha doing?" I asked and Maggie slowly shook her head at me.
"She has cut herself off, don't really talk to anyone" Maggie informed me as my brothers came over.

"Hey, Maggie" Mason greeted and I smiled as they all greeted her with a hug.
"Hey, boys" Maggie greeted with a smile and I left the four to talk as I walked back over to Rick.

"So, what's the plan, Rick?" I asked and he turned to look at me before giving me a small smile.
"We going to make an army" He replied and I smirked at that idea as I slowly nodded my head.

"Damn right, we are" Chase commented and I turned to him surprised, he came with us?
"Chase, what are you doing here?" I asked making my way over to him and he chuckled as he put his arm around my shoulder.

"I haven't left Alexandria since we arrived and by the sounds of it, you're going to need me out here" He replied and I smiled as I side-hugged him.

"I think you're going to need me too" A familiar voice filled with a thick southern accent said and my heart stopped as I slowly turned with Chase.

"Robin Hood?" I asked carefully and he scoffed.
"Yes, it's me, Kangaroo" He replied and I quickly left Chase's side and went flying towards Daryl.
"Like How?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around him and he seemed hesitant for a short moment before he eventually hugged back.

"Alright, it seems we are all together again" Rick announced as the group gathered around him.
"There's a few that should be here" I stated sadly and he slowly nodded his head to agree with me.

"I'm tired with trying to survive each day, I'm tired of looking over my shoulder" Rick stated as he placed his hands on his hips and I sighed.

"So, what's the plan Rick?" Mason asked from behind me and we all stared intensely at our leader as we all waited for him to answer.

"We fight" He replied and we all nodded our heads, "We just make sure this is the last time we have to fight" He added and I took a deep breathe.

"What's wrong?" Glenn asked me quietly.
"As much as that is a lovely thought, it seems to me that the fight is far from over" I replied quietly as Rick were trying to give the group encouragement.

"Do you think Gregory will help?" Rick asked Maggie and the girl sighed, shaking her head.
"That man is a coward and is not fit to lead but we need these people, if we are going to go ahead with this" She replied and Rick nodded his head.
