Miso POV
I was sealing up the last of the boxes when my dad walked in.
"All done?" He asked, smiling.
I nodded, cutting the tape from the roll.
Ever since mom died, dad fell into alot of financial debt due to paying for mum's treatment and for the ceremony and services, leaving us no choice but to move to the other side of the city with grandma.
Besides, he landed a better job over there anyways.
To be honest, I was pretty bummed out.
My whole life was here, in this part of Seoul.
But there was going to be good coming out of it.
Grandma was well off, meaning a 3 bedroom landed property with a farm!
Best part is, I get to spend more time with her and enjoy her delicious cooking.
I have to admit, I was still recovering from my loss and was worried that I wouldn't have a easy time adjusting.

I sat in the moving truck, with dad beside me and mum in his hands.
I watched as we passed by the many places that I been to growing up.
A shame to leave it all behind isn't it?
I huffed and turned to dad who was fast asleep.
"Already?" I thought and smiled.
I waved my hand across his face but to no avail.
"I guess packing and loading boxes really is some hard work huh." I thought, laughing to myself.

"Halmoni! Harabeoji!" I exclaimed, bursting through the door.
"Miso!" My grandma laughed, rushing to me with open arms.
"How are you love?" She smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I'm doing well grandma, where's grandpa?" I asked, hoping to have the chance to greet him.
"He's at the back tending to his flowers..." She laughed, pulling away.
"I'll go say hi then!" I exclaimed, rushing off to see him.
"Grandpa!" I shouted, turning the corner.
"Ah! Miso!" He smiled.
I watched as he cut out a small daisy and handed it to me.
"I hope their still your favourite." He smiled.
"Of course they are, thank you." I laughed and sat beside him.
I was definitely close to my grandparents.
They were pretty much my life support and never failed to make me feel loved in their own ways.
Grandma loves to show her love with food and hugs while on the other hand, grandpa showed his love with flowers and nature.
Interesting isn't it?

I returned to the main entrance to see my dad lifting the boxes that were filled with our stuff while grandma was setting mum down on a shelf with her picture sitting beside it.
Dad's parents loved my mother to bits.
They still do of course, but in a different way.
Grandma used to tell me stories about when dad first brought mum home, how it was fate for the family and how much they adored my mother.
But thinking about it really made me miss her even more.
"Miso yah!" My grandmother called out as she placed the cloth down.
I walked towards her direction and eventually stopped when I was around 4 feet away from her.
"Here." She said as she rustled with whatever was in her pocket.
Not long after, she pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper along with some cash and handed them to me.
"This is your booklist and some cash. Use this to buy all the books you need and this to get whatever makeover you want." She smiled, taking a few more dollar notes out of her pocket.
With that, I excitedly headed off to the nearby mall to get my self care done.
Since we were so poor, we never really managed to get our hair done professionally and always ended up cutting each others hair.
I had to admit though, mum and I were pretty good but dad on the other hand...
Let's just say he never got a hold of the scissors.
I took a bus to the nearby mall and went to the hair salon to get my hair done.
I smiled at the sight of the new haircut, glad I could finally get it professionally done.
Next, I went and bought some basic makeup as I had the chance.

As I turned the corner to buy some textbooks, I saw a boy who looked around my age browsing through his phone.
His clearly dyed blonde hair and his sense of fashion caught my eye.
It was as if he was an ai.
I was swooning over him when suddenly a girl pushed past me and ran towards the boy.
"Babe!" She shouted, her arms wide open.
Of course, a girlfriend.
"Oh hey!" He smiled, putting his phone in his pocket.
"Let's go!" She smiled.
They turned around and just as they walked past me, the girl elbowed me in my side before smirking and walking off.
What a b!tch...
And with that, I huffed and walked off to the bookshop.

"Im home!" I huffed, plopping the book filled bag down on on top of the shoe rack as I took off my shoes.
"Great timing! I just finished lunch, come eat!" My grandmother laughed, placing 2 bowls of rice on the table.
"Okay!" I smiled, slipping on a pair of slippers.
I went to the kitchen and prepared the two remaining bowls of rice as my grandmother called the rest to eat.
Soon, we all were seated at the dining table, enjoying the meal grandma made.
"Are you excited for school tomorrow love?" Grandma asked, placing a piece of egg on my bowl.
I nodded happily, munching on my rice.
Thanks to my academic abilities, I was able to land a scholarship at a prestigious international school nearby.
"That's good." Grandpa laughed as he chewed on some meat.
"But you must be nervous right? After all everything is new here." Dad said with a look of concern.
"I'm just a little nervous!" I smiled before picking at my rice.
But what could go wrong right?
Afterall, I'm not too shabby of a person, am I?
