Khaos Caddell

I've always loved explosions. Physical explosions, emotional explosions, metaphorical explosions. I guess it was symptom of living in this house with a million people watching your every move. The media always got a kick out of it and I always got a kick out of the reactions of my torturers.

So I developed a little system.

I gave the people the little chaos and drama and I got a little fun out of it. Rude of me, trust me, I know. But I never said I was a good son.

In fact, I'm quite the opposite, usually I'd be in detention right about now but instead the principle wanted to hold a little meeting. Me being the main topic of course.

A little blabbing on about how is gone far enough to mv mother and father.

"Nothing we do works on him. He's completely out of control, I'm afraid we just can't handle a student like him."

I scoff. My father rolls his eyes. My mother gasped. "Wha-what do you mean?"

He sighs, dropping his eyes from my mothers gaze. "He is expelled.. I'm saying we just can't handle his shenanigans any longer, he is no longer welcome here. I'm sorry, I really am. He's got a magnificent mind. He has so much potential but he is just too stubborn and hard headed and you know he's too much to handle sometimes and it only grows as time goes on."

When the meetings over my parents split again. Dad drives off and I'm stuck in a little care with mom.

The first few minutes it utter silence. No radio, none of the usually sighs or lectures.  I pushed her over the edge this time. She rarely ever gave me the silent treatment, but here we are now  in this horribly silent car.

I don't play games this time. I simply sit in the back seat with my earbuds in and I ignore what's about to come.

We arrive to the house still in silence I don't walk in with shame. It's not the first time I've been expelled and it certainly won't be the last.I walk through the way to big doors like nothing is wrong. I click my tongue waiting for Scully, my cat, to come to me. By my third click I can already see his black and white fur hiding under the little table right next to the door. He meows and pounces at my feet, playfully bitting and clawing at my shoes. I start to walk towards my room and he follows.

By the time the house starts to fill again I've taken two short naps, ate a family sized pack of Oreos, and playfully fought Scully.

So by the time my cousins start filling the house I know somethings up. It's rare for all of to be home at once. Noah, my second favorite cousin, barges into my room and I take it as an opening.

"Who's all here?" I ask him.

He closes the door and plops right on my chair "Just about everyone. Grandma, all the parents, all, the kids, your dad. Pretty sure it's meant to be an intervention, James got his disappointed look on his face and your mom ain't talking to anyone but gran."

I nod. Is to be expected.

Scully moves from my bed to the chair with Noah. Traitor. Abandoning me in a time of need. "You overhear anythinq this time?" I ask.

"Nah" he pushes at scully trying to move him off his lap. "They went to talk outside and gran didn't let anyone near the door "

Scully finally jumps of Noah with a little annoyed meow. "What's for dinner then?" I change the topic.

"Don't know your mom and gran kicked everyone out of the kitchen so they could talk." I nod because again, it is to be expected.
