Hyeri's POV
I'm running away from my life. I don't know, i think it's just to forget all the stressfulness that i've been experiencing since i was in Korea. So i decided to go to the beach. It's winter, i know. But this place is a little crowded too, even in winter. That's why i decided to go here. I hate to be alone.
I'm playing with the waves and corals. I also made a sand castle until i was tired. Then i decided to rest in a lodge for a night. But when i turned back, there i saw..
Chanyeol.
Chen.
Sungra.
Chanyeol, he.. looks really pale and sweaty. Hey it's winter! How would he be sweating in this weather?
"G-guys?" i asked. "What are you doing here?"
"What are YOU doing here is the right question," said Sungra.
"I was just-"
"Forgetting your problems in life? But how could you not inform us?" asked her impatiently.
"I.. don't wanna make you guys worry over me because i said i have problems.."
"But you did make us worry! You leaving without any sign is really worrying us!" exclaimed Chanyeol. He looks really mad.
"I.. I'm s-sorry.." that's all i could say.
"Aish, you know that you're a girl, don't you? You know you have friends to listen all your problems, don't you?" Chen's mad too.
"I know, i'm sorry. Now please just go home, i wanna stay here for a night."
"After all the hardwork to get here? Nah uh, not a chance. Do you know how many fans thought that i was with 2 members of exo? Thank god we could lie. So, we'll stay here with you too. It's 7 in the evening already. Besides, you won't be alone," said Sungra.
"There's no need-" i said when Chanyeol embraced me. What?
"C-C-C-Chanyeol? Let go-"
"I missed you so much," he said. I couldn't say anything. I missed him too. In fact, i ran away to the beach because of him. I wanna forget all about him, but i just couldn't.
"I.. missed you too.." i said finally. We then went to the nearest restaurant to eat, all 4 of us.
"So, what problem did you have? Why runaway?" asked Chen.
"Uhm.. actually.. uhm.. someone borrowed a huge amount of my money but didn't return it," i lied and smiled.
"You're lying. Just tell us the truth, we won't tell anyone," he said. Twin's instinct?
"Don't tell me.. because of him?" Chen pointed Chanyeol who is dumbfounded.
"W-w-w-what? Him? O-of course not!" i stuttered and looked the other way.
"Oooh, so you missed him so much that you ran away just to forget him?" Sungra teased me. "I said it wasn't because of him!" i yelled.
"Okay, okay, miss runaway-not-because-of-Chanyeol," she teased again. Then Chen laughed together with Sungra. They look cute together. But Chanyeol has been really quiet. What's wrong with him?
"Chanyeol? Are you sick?" asked Chen after we ate. Chanyeol didn't eat that much. Usually he'll eat the most.
"Oh my gosh he has a high fever, we'll have to take you to the hospital, it's really cold here in the beach," Chen said after checking Chanyeol's temperature. I became really worried but i just couldn't say anything.
We then arrived in the nearest hospital by a cab. Chen quickly took him to the emergency unit, while i and Sungra wait outside.
"Sungra-ya.. was it me who made him sick?" i asked and she shooked her head.
"No, Hyeri. Now will you stop thinking negative things? You're so pessimist, unlike your twin," she said. "Okay.." i gave up.
"Hyeri, can you take care of him inside? I'll take Sungra home, her parents will be mad if she doesn't come home soon," said Chen. "Will you come back here?" i asked and he nodded. "Okay," i said. "Don't worry, he's sleeping now. When i come back here i'll take you two back home," he said.
I stared at the sick Chanyeol for a long time. I caressed his soft hair. A tear came out of my eye and then from another one. He looked so tired. I wonder if it's because he looked for me all the way to the beach in the cold weather?
Ugh i'm so stupid. I don't want to make them worry over me but i did in the end. I didn't think that they'll even look for me. I'm so stupid!
"Hyeri?" he woke up and saw me crying in silence.
"Oh, you wake up already. I'll call Chen," i said, avoiding his gaze and tried to escape, but he grabbed my hand and said, "No, he'll come later. Just stay here."
"O-okay.." we drowned in silence for a long time.
"Uhm.. how are you feeling?" i asked, breaking the silence.
"Better," he said. Then silence dominated us once again.
"Why did you runaway? Was it really because of me?" he asked.
"N-no, there are some problems in work."
"If there are problems at work you could talk to Sungra, you worked in her dad's office."
"Y-yeah.. i didn't think of it," i never knew that i was a smooth liar.
"So.. how have you been?" he asked.
"Fine.. you?" i'm lying again.
"I haven't been fine since 3 months ago," he said and in a blink my heart aches so much. "Because of you, because of us."
"I'm.. sorry.."
"Stop saying sorry. It was my fault that i didn't notice why you were crying with the other girls that day, it's my fault that i have a contract with an agency that doesn't allow me or the other artists to have any kind of relationship with anybody. It was my fault all along."
"No. It's your dream to become an artist. And you got the right company to be your agency. It's not your fault, it's just the consequences of being an artist. It was my fault, who fell in love with you," i said while my tears are getting dry.
"But i still wanna be with you, can't we be together?" he asked.
"There's no other way-"
"There is."
"W-what is it?"
"Let's do backstreet."
