Author's POV
The party started. Right after the MC called Jongdae, Baekhyun, Hyeri, and Rinchan, they immediately showed up on stage. They made eye-contacts with other Exo members, Hyunseul, Seulra, and Yeon-ah. They all nodded in secret. When it's time to exchange rings, it's time for the plan to start.
"Now it's time to exchange rings," said the MC. But none of them moved to their positions. The MC was confused, so were the audience and their parents. They stayed quiet until Jongdae stepped forward and grabbed the MC's mic.
"Hello everyone, sorry for the interruption. I'm Kim Jongdae. There is something i want to tell all of you about this engagement," he said and that made all the guests gasped. He then continued, "this engagement is not what i wanted. Not even Baekhyun, Hyeri, and Rinchan. We all politely declined this engagement. To dad, mr and mrs Shim and Byun, we're really sorry. We didn't mean to embarrass you, nor to fight against you. But we already have our own love of our lives, and i hope you understand."
Jongdae and Hyeri then got down from the stage and took their couples' hand to take them to the stage. After they're on the stage once again, Jongdae, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol kneeled down in front of their own couples and said in unison, "Will you marry me?"
It wasn't part of the plan, so the three girls gasped along with the guests. The three guys kneeling down in front of them planned this in their own chat room last night, so nobody knows this, even the other Exo members.
The three girls were speechless and just nodded still in surprise. After they wore the ring, the Shims and the Byuns went up to the stage. They thought their parents would slap them in the face or something, but nope. They pat their son or daughter's head and said, "We're not embarrassed. But why didn't you guys just tell us that you don't want to get engaged in the first place? We could've talked it out, honey," with a smile. Just when they thought everything was okay, mr. Kim quickly stood up and walked out of the hall with his secretary. He was full of anger. The twins were afraid, of course. But it wasn't a perfect timing to chase after him. So they stayed there with everybody congratulating them before the party ended.
-skip to the next day-
Hyeri's POV
I couldn't be happier than this. Chanyeol proposed to me even though we're not going to marry anytime soon, but at least we're engaged. Our life could've been perfect if it wasn't because of dad. He disapproved us getting engaged with someone other than Baekhyun or Rinchan. So now, i and Chen are going to dad's office to talk to him hoping that he'd understand.
"Jongdae, he'll understand, won't he?" I asked with trembling lips when we're already in front of his office.
"I hope so. Don't be afraid, he won't do anything dangerous to us," he said convincing me, but i know deep inside his heart he wasn't sure either.
Jongdae opened the door. Inside, we can only see dad's secretary.
"Oh, it's you guys. Mr. Kim told me to give you this," he said and gave us an envelope.
"Dad knew we were coming?" I asked.
"Of course, after all that happened yesterday," he said calmly.
"Then where is he right now?" Jongdae asked.
"Just read his message and leave."
To Jongdae and Hyeri,
I hope you won't be surprised after reading this.
You must've been really curious all your lives about why me and your mother divorced, haven't you? I think it's the perfect time to tell you about it. And oh, i'm sorry i didn't come home after the dinner with the Shims and the Byuns as i promised.
Your mother was the heir of the biggest company in Indonesia. We met in college, she went to the same college as me here in Korea, in the Yonsei University to be exact. We were in the business law major. We fell in love and got married in Daejeon. A year after we married, you guys were born. We were very happy. But when her parents visited you guys in the hospital, they said, 'they are going to be the next heirs of our company after their mother'. But your mother never wanted that. She wanted you guys to do what you like and have a life of your own. But because of my greed, i wanted you guys to still be the heirs and that way, my money and power won't disappear when i'm old. So we divorced 3 months after you guys were born. In the court, the judge decided to let your mother take Hyeri and i take Jongdae. She was sad to let Jongdae go, but she couldn't break the law. After that, she brought Hyeri back to Indonesia while i and Jongdae moved to Seoul.
I thought, 'I'll take Hyeri back one day and make her and Jongdae the heirs of my own company'. So i was busy building my own business company and let the maids took care of Jongdae. So when i heard that your mother was gone, i immediately contacted her friends that took care of Hyeri to bring her here and start the mission i've been longing to do.
But i was wrong and your mother was right. You guys have a life of your own, and i can't stop you from doing what you like. I'm really sorry, children. I shouldn't have let my greed overpowered me.
If you're reading this, it means that i'm already in America. Don't come after me, and just live your own life. I'm sorry that i left just like that yesterday at the party. I get angry easily because i have a hypertension.
Good bye, children. We won't meet again but you're always in my heart.

I teared up while reading it and so did Jongdae. Mr. Secretary was just looking at us waiting for us to stop crying. And when we did, he said, "He's in America now. He's running his company there and won't come back to Korea anytime soon. I will go there too after this, do you have anything to say to him?"
I nodded and said, "Tell him we love him. That's enough. Thank you so much." Jongdae just nodded and smiled.
"Okay. Good bye, have a nice day," he said and then got out of the office and took a cab.
"At least he still loves us," Jongdae said while he's driving his car back home with me.
"Yeah.." i said and smiled.
