Chapter 19

Hyeri's POV

"Jongdae-ya, does it look good on me?" i asked Chen about my white and black dress i'm wearing. We're preparing for the dinner with the Shims and the Byuns.

"Whoa it's perfect. It's like that dress was made specially for you," he complimented. "Now, shall we go?" he asked and i smiled.

As soon as we arrived at the restaurant dad told us, we headed to the reserved table. There we saw dad, the Byuns and the Shims, also a girl and...

"Jongdae-ya, are you seeing what i'm seeing?" i asked and he nodded also in surprise.

"BAEKHYUN?" we asked in unison.

"H-hey, guys," he said.

"Jongdae, Hyeri, how rude of you two. Please sit down," dad said. And we did, but still confused.

"Now that we're all here, let me introduce you to your fiances. Rinchan, this is Jongdae, he will be your fiance. And Baekhyun, this is Hyeri, she will also be your fiance."

"W-what?" i muttered.

"So, let's start the dinner," said mr. Byun

All 4 of us are now sitting in a different table, because the parents are talking about their business.

"So.. are we going to stay quiet or talk?" asked Rinchan.

"What are we going to talk about anyway?" i asked.

"Well, anything. We're a soon-to-be family, right?"

"Baekhyun," called Chen suddenly. We all looked at him.

"Hm?"

"Did you know about all this?"

"Well, no. I didn't know you're mr. Kim's son. I mean, there are a lot of mr. Kims in this world," he explained.

"But why is this happening to us? Hyeri already has Chanyeol and i already have Sungra," Chen said.

"But our entertainment doesn't allow us to have a relationship, right? You and Sungra hasn't even met in 3 months. So does Hyeri and Chanyeol."

"We met again just a a few days ago. Long story," Chen said.

"So, is there something i don't know?" asked Rinchan. Of course, she doesn't know anything.

"Jongdae already has a girlfriend, well, a soon-to-be, and i already have a boyfriend. And now, we're going to have to marry another person," i explained. I then continued, "3 months ago, we separated and hasn't been contacting one another because their entertainment doesn't allow them to have a relationship. And a few days ago, we contacted once again." Rinchan nodded.

"But what makes me confused is why are they now allowing us to marry?" asked Chen.

"Uhm.. well, the founder of our entertainment is my uncle and my dad's company is also half-owned by him," explained Baekhyun.

"You never told us that," Chen said.

"Okay, so basically, everything's complicated here," said Rinchan and i nodded. "I actually like Baekhyun oppa, well actually it's because we're childhood friends, and i wanna marry him instead. I don't want this matchmaking thing," she continued and that made us choke, even Baekhyun.

"You.. do?" Baekhyun asked and Rinchan nodded shyly. "I already said that i don't want this matchmaking to dad, but he wouldn't listen.."

"So, none of us want this? This makes everything easier, right?" i asked and Rinchan shooked her head. "Not at all, this all happened because of our parents' business, so it'll be really hard."

Baekhyun's POV

I know i shouldn't be like this, but i don't want this matchmaking to stop. I like Hyeri more than i like Rinchan, and now Hyeri's going to be my fiance but Rinchan likes me. What should i do?

Maybe i should talk about this with Chen.

"Chen, can i talk to you? Alone?" i asked.

"Well, okay," he said and followed me outside. Once we're outside, i immediately ask, "Chen, what should i do?"

"Do about what? The matchmaking? We already have a plan, don't worry."

"That's not what i meant. I like Hyeri, but Rinchan likes me. I want Hyeri to be my fiance but at the same time it means that we can't operate the plan. I want her but it's so greedy of me," i sigh, so does he.

"Baek, get a hold of yourself. You can still learn to love Rinchan, it's still not too late for that. If you keep being like this, all of us are going to get hurt, meanwhile you're the only one happy."

"I know, Chen.. but, can you keep this a secret? I think.. i'll just get a hold of myself. Support me, okay?"

"I will. Thank you, Baekhyun," he said and pulled me into a bro-hug.

-skip to 2 weeks later-

Chen's POV

I and Baekhyun are now in the dressing room preparing for the engagement. Meanwhile Hyeri and Rinchan are in the room next to ours.

We're going to operate a plan to stop this engagement. Anything to stop this stupid thing. Even tough we're not sure we're gonna get out of here alive, but anything, just anything to stop our parents' greed. We'll also use Exo members and Hyeri and Sungra's friends a.k.a Seulra, Hyunseul, and Yeonyoung to operate this plan. Thankfully Chanyeol and Sungra understood us when we told them about our engagement, and they gladly helped us in the preparations of the plan.

"Baek, are you ready?" i asked.

"Of course, Chen. I doubt we'll get out here alive, but we've got to stop this stupid engagement. Also, in the last 2 weeks i've learned to love Rinchan, and as you said, it's not too late to learn to love again," he said as we smiled.

"You know, Baekhyun? I'm really thankful that you're my friend, you're the best. You're willing to give up on Hyeri for our happiness," i said.

"Of course. Hm.. you owe me one?" he said as we chuckled together.

"Baekhyun? Jongdae? Are you guys ready?" asked Rinchan as she and Hyeri stepped in the room.

"Of course. By the way you guys look great in that dress," Baekhyun complimented as i nodded. They smiled. "So do you guys."

"So, we can't step back now. We have to operate the plan no matter what will happen later," i said and all of them nodded.

"Let's do this," we said in unison as we hugged each other the way teletubbies did.
