"Oh, sod off already!" Lalna exclaimed as he slashed his sword through yet another taint swarm.
Nano laughed "You having a problem there?"
"Yes! This is the fifth swarm in as many minutes! Why don't they bother you?"
"They recognize me" Nano said simply
Right as she said that, however, a large taint bud exploded in her face, sending her sprawling back into Lalna's arms.
"They recognize you, huh?" Lalna said, grinning and holding back a laugh
"Oh, shut up." Nano muttered, her cheeks red from embarrassment.
As the duo ventured on, trying to find the source of the anomaly that Lalna had noticed, Nano suddenly collapsed, grabbing her head.
"Nano!" As Lalna bent down to tend to her, she started shivering.
"Nano, what's happening?" He asked, concerned.
"Th-they're everywhere...the blooms, the light. It hurts. Cold, so cold, so...alone..." She looked around, a fearful look on her eyes. After about ten seconds of this mumbling, which seemed like an eternity to Lalna, Nano passed out.
"What the hell is going on?!" Lalna stood and cried out to the forest "What have you done to Nano?!"
When nothing happened, Lalna picked up Nano and turned around. Looking back, he snarled "Screw this forest. I knew this was a bad idea." Then, with concern on his face, he looked back at Nano "My poor Nano...you'll be ok. You aren't alone."
As he left, a sharp wind blew through the forest. "Daughter..." It whispered.
