A Cure?

When Nano woke, she was lying in her bed, with several sheets, including those from Lalna's hammock, draped over her. A plate of food with a note was on the nightstand next to her in Lalna's handwriting. "You were really cold last night if you're wondering about the blankets. As for the food, I made it myself. I know that you're usually the one to cook, but I wanted you to get your rest."

Nano smiled at that. Despite his god-awful cooking skills, Lalna still tried his best to help her out in the kitchen.

She got up, ate the food, which surprisingly wasn't that bad, then heard Lalna yelling from the raptor pen. She out on her day clothes and angel ring, and flew over, to find him cornered by raptors.

"Just go eat your food! Not me!"

She chuckled "having issues?"

"No, everything's just peachy!"

"If you say so..." She started to fly off in a teasing manner

"That was sarcasm and you know it! Please don't leave me here to get eaten by raptors"

"I never would" Nano pulled his Angel ring out of her pocket, and tossed it to Lalna. He put it on and took off just as the raptors tried to jump him.

"Thanks" Lalna brushed himself off.

"You're always forgetting your angel ring. One day I won't be around to pull you out of a sticky situation."

"But you were this time" Lalna grinned at Nano impishly, to which she rolled her eyes and smiled.

"So, what do you have planned for today" Asked Lalna as the pair got back to the house.

"I want to mess around with Botania for a bit, I've read in my Lexica about a new plant that may be able to cure our Taint"

Lalna's eyes widened at this "What's the plant? And what do you need?" Ever since contracting Flux Taint, and especially since last night, Lalna had been growing more and more desperate to cure Nano and himself.

"It's called the Taintthistle. The Lexica says it consumes Taint to produce Mana"

"It's a win/win then! Lets go for it"

"Not so fast, Lalna. In order to build it, we need Tainted Goo, which only comes from Tainted areas. So I suggest we suit up and head out there for it."

Lalna grabbed Nanos shoulders "I can't let you go back out there. I'll go get it, and we'll build it when I get back, ok?"

"Why not? I feel fine. I'm sure I can handle it this time"

I can't lose you. Lalna thought to himself. Out loud, he said "I'm less susceptible to the taint. It's only reasonable that I go out there."

Nano sighed "Alright." She pulled him close in a hug, and quietly spoke "Be careful, okay?"

"Of course"

With that, Lalna left, waving back to Nano until he disappeared into the trees.
