"Lalna! Your friend is in view!"

Lalna rushed up to the bridge to see. He did see Nano, though something was different. Her eyes were bright violet, and she was rushing the ship at an alarming speed. Upon making contact, the ship rocked back, the force of her strike forcing Shadow to gun the engines just to stay stable. Shadow cursed under his breath "What kind of magic is this chick using?!"

Lalna picked himself up "I don't know! She's never hit this hard before!"

Nano followed up by blasting countless shots of purple energy at the ship. Shadow cursed again and slammed the throttle into full power. Darkstone shot forward towards the castle wall, taking Nano with it.

Lalna frantically grabbed for the the throttle. "You're going to kill her!" Before he could grab it, however, the ship slammed to a stop, and Lalna flew back. He got up to see Nano punch through the ship's armor plating. He looked over at Shadow "What a great alloy. Total bedrock mimicry."

Shadow stood, his visor cracked "Shut up. I didn't build this ship to withstand magical attacks" He looked over just in time for Nano to pin him to the wall. He kicked her back, but in the process, lost his visor. He quickly turned his head and ran off. "I need my weapons, keep her occupied!"

"Excuse me?!" Lalna shrieked just as Nano flew at him. He barely dodged to the side and then proceeded  to run, Nano hot on his heels. She quickly caught up with him, but before she could hit him, she fell to the floor, her hairpieces glowing. A red and purple beam flew out and shaped itself into the ghostly form of Nano, which spoke at the same moment her body did, albeit in a different voice.

"Don't hurt him! L-Let me go!"

"You will obey me child! Your magic is strong, but mine is stronger"

"No! Get out!"

Nano screamed and the ghostly form appeared to implode back into the body.

Nano stood and faced Lalna "This child refuses to accept her fate, she would rather die protecting you than be able to use power beyond her wildest dreams"

"Let her go!" Lalna grabbed the hilt of Nano's cleaver, and red energy flowed through his form. He drove the blade into Darkstone's floor, and a massive burst of energy threw Nano back "Let her go, or i'll drag you out and kill you myself!"

Nano stood and grinned, the evil in the expression making Lalna uneasy "You'll have to kill Nano to get to me."

A voice rang out "Gladly"

Nano whipped around just in time. She caught the arrow Shadow had fired, stabbed Lalna through the leg with it, and teleported away. Lalna sank to his knees and cried out, the pain in his leg causing his vision to blur. "What..What are you doing to me?"

Shadow stood over Lalna. His voice was cold and detached "That was my only astral disassociation arrow. Normally, it separates an ethereal being from a solid host, weakening both, the former to the point where I could have killed it. Unless you have an ethereal being within you, your soul will be rendered from your body and you will die."

Lalna coughed "Please, go save Nano...and tell her, I loved her..." As his vision began to darken, he began to hear Nano's voice in his head

Why don't you tell me yourself?

Lalna blacked out.
