After a few more hours of Shadow pushing Darkstone to full throttle, Lalna's castle came into view.
"I installed a railgun on my castle, I hope you're aware of that" Lalna warned
Shadow sighed "Of course you did. Good for the both of us then that I built Darkstone to survive anything short of a red matter warhead"
Lalna raised an eyebrow, concern crossing his features "And you did this how?"
"I laced the outer plating with a Bedrockium and Gravitite alloy. Strong enough to mimic bedrock, and light enough to allow flight"
"That's an awful lot of two very rare materials."
"I have my ways. Now shut up, we're about to make contact"

They're here. Why aren't you attacking? We could have blown them out of the sky if we so desired.
"Umm..." Nano racked her brains. She had to stall long enough for Lalna to get here, hoping that in the heat of battle Mother would be too cautious to posses her. "I forgot to charge the railgun." Nano sounded uncertain, and Mother caught on.
Liar. You are stalling. The railgun does not need charge, and you know it
"O-of course! Just testing to see if your magic is holding together properly. How are you feeling?
Insolent child. If you don't attack them, I will.
Nano felt Mother's energy invade her body, a thousand voices crashing onto her brain. She screamed and grabbed her head. "Get out! This is my brain!"
No, it isn't, and it hasn't been for a while. As soon as you were infected by the taint, you became linked to my collective consciousness.
"Collective consciousness? You control a hive mind, you witch!" Nano's taint pulsed and grew at an alarming rate, and she collapsed, screaming.
Now now. It's not nice to call others names.
Nano fought and screamed, trying to expunge Mother's magic, but eventually succumbed. Her body laid still, her eyes igniting in violet flames. "I...I understand."
Good girl. Now rise, your highness, and fulfill your destiny.
Nano stood, and as she did, the dress burned away, replaced by a black bodysuit. Violet wings unfolded from her sides, and Nano took to the sky.
