Nano immediately set out gathering the materials for the Taintthistle. Just as she started dumping the materials in her apothecary, Lalna crashed through the door holding the Tainted Goo. Nano looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "You're in a hurry"
"The Taint spread! It's right outside the base, giant tentacles are ripping apart my power plant!" Lalna gasped in a crazed voice
Nano grabbed the goo from Lalna as he kept the door barricaded from the various tainted monsters trying to bash it in. She threw it into the apothecary along with the seeds, finishing the flower. The pulasting, thorned bulb seemed almost sentient, opening and reaching for Nano's tainted arm. However, it froze when one of the tainticles burst through the wall, grabbing Lalna.
"No!" cried Nano, dropping the flower and drawing her cleaver, cutting apart the tainticle. The severed monster started spewing purple goo everywhere, covering the walls and floor. Nano dragged Lalna over to the now gooey Taintthistle.
"Come on you godforsaken plant, do your job!" Nano yelled, holding an unconscious Lalna.
The flower in question had turned a dark, nearly black, violet, and reacted violently to Nano's voice. Lashing out at her, it grew into a massive, thorny monster, jabbing a suction tipped tentacle into the back of her neck.
"what are you do-ahhh!" Nano cried, startled
Hello child. Come to your mother. you'll be safe here with me.
"No! Get out of my head! Lalna, help me!"
Lalna woke up to see the scene. "Nano!" He started to grab his sword, but the Taintthistle flicked it away. He stumbled to his feet, drawing his bow, only to be knocked out of the door and across the yard. He weakly stood, defending himself against the invading taint.
Meanwhile, in the hut, Nano wasn't faring much better. Black and purple smoke billowed around her, encasing her in a cocoon. "Let me out!" Nano screamed, banging her fists against the cocoon. Oh daughter, come join me. Your friend is of no concern to you anymore. Nano glanced across the yard to see her mana spreaders turn purple and take aim at Lalna.
"No! Lalna, run!"
Lalna looked up, ducking to avoid the first mana blast, which shattered the wall behind him. He took one last glance at Nano before taking off. "I'll come back for you, I promise!" He yelled back, then flew off, leaving Nano alone.
Nano placed her hand on the almost finished cocoon. Looking on, she muttered "I know you will...you always have."
Come child. It is time you take this world as your own. After all, what is a queen without a domain to rule over?
