Beomgyu hands me a plate of cheesecake. "Table four," he says. I nod. I walk back to him, joining him behind the counter as I watch him make a caramel cream frappe, my eyes drifting down to his hands. There's just one word in my head, repeating over and over again.
Veins.
The tiny bell rings, and I turn my head over to the front entrance, finding a familiar face as I run towards him. "Seungmin, hey. Haven't seen you in a while."
"Hey, Yuna. Yeah, I've been a bit busy. Applying for college and stuff."
"Ooh, cool. So, where do you plan on going?"
"Well, I've got two options; Georgia and France."
"Abroad, huh? That's pretty cool. So, I won't be seeing much of you soon? Don't go find yourself another coffee girl, I bet she's a lot prettier than me."
He laughs. "I doubt it."
"Doubt that the girl is prettier than me, or that you won't find one at all?" He shrugs. "Your regular?" He nods. I smile, walking over to Beomgyu and giving him Seungmin's order.
"Coffee girl," he scoffed.
"What was that?" I lean toward him, not catching what he said.
"Nothing," he says, walking past me, grabbing a plastic cup.

5 hours later, Beomgyu and I walk out the cafe, tired. I stretch my arms over my head, sighing. My eyes drift up to the sky, the sun close to setting.
"Today's July 19th right?" I ask.
"Yeah, why? Anything special?"
I shake my head.
"Are you alright?" He places his hand atop my shoulder, pausing. "You've been a bit off this morning."
"What makes you say that?" I laugh.
"I dunno. Just, something feels off."
"Actually-" I turn to look at him. "Are you up for a little trip? Spoiler warning, I'm gonna be talking about myself. A lot."
He smiles. "Yeah, sure."
I hold my hand out, smiling gently. He smiles back, placing his hand in mine.

"So, where are we?" he asks finally.
I say nothing, continuing to walk ahead, until I come to a firm stop. Beomgyu stands beside, panting. "Long walk," he jokes. "How come you're not passed out yet?"
I bite back the small smile threatening to come out. "Little too preoccupied for that."
My eyes trail over the scenery, catching sight of the hill up ahead of us, a tacky looking house atop it, looking lonely. The wind blows gently, warm, the sun setting behind us. I glance at the tall trees, leaves dried, branches flailing on the wind, looking timid, and the mountains behind it, the clouds casting a grey gloom over us.
"That house over there," I point out. "It's where I used to live."
"Live?" He turned to me.
"See that ragged sign over there?" I point, a few feet away from us.
"Haeshin Orphanage," he reads. He then turns to me, eyes wide.
"Surprise, surprise. I've got secrets, too. Hard to believe, I know. I can't seem to shut up about my life most of the time." I laugh slowly. "I was an orphan. Twice. Not fun, huh?"
